Evening all.

Home from a two day stay on the mountain.  I needed a shave and a shower, then I'm back up tomorrow.   It looks like the road up is coming down with the next rain, though.  It started sliding into the road while I was up.

Have the day off today.  Was putting on my shoes to go for a walk/run hoping to beat the weather.  When I began putting on my 2nd shoe, the wind and rain started.  Not a good day for outdoor activities, unless you are a duck.

In Dare Co on the outer banks of NC, about 10 miles from Manteo, NC. A very nice range, they've got a website you can view.

Just curious not headed to sunny shores of tbe OB anytime in the future. I spent 17 years and a few in in Virginia and shot with Roy and also SASS never heard of that one. Is there a SASS club there?

Heavy rains here in the greater Houston area and expected to continue for a couple of days.  Some tornadoes.
Low areas (feeder roads and underpasses) are starting to flood.   Bayous and rivers rising, and some expected to exceed flood levels.
No injuries reported in our area.

Took on an indoor project with the weather.  I replaced the ceiling fan in the den.  Much better lighting, and the fan works on this one!
Also, fixed up my favorite wife's new coach shotgun (one of her birthday presents, along with a Sig P238).  I replaced the latch spring, removed the safety and polished the joint surfaces on the coach gun.  I'll start on the butt cover next.  Then move on to a new belt rig for her.

I do install fans, but I'm not cheap.

I've done only a field strip and clean on the Sig and sprayed with Rem Oil.  I got her the model with the laser and accompanying holster.  We've left the laser off for now.  We may get to the range tomorrow, but it really depends on the weather.  It has cleared up here, but I'm not sure of the road conditions to the range.  If we don't get there tomorrow it won't be until Mid-Sept, as she is going to Europe for a couple of weeks.  Do tell me about the tricks and cautions....I think I learned one caution...the barrel lug doesn't toggle...I missed it the first reassembly.   ::)

We are ECSASS-- East Carolina SASS-- active but are no longer affiliated with sass. We shoot the 4 th Saturday of the month except when it conflicts with the holidays. Small but a very nice group of cowboys and cowgirls.

Yes the barrel does not have a toggle. Re- assembly you figgured out holding ejector down has you push slide assembly to the rear. Notes i have learned are not to move safety till reassembled and not to pull trigger while dis-assembled. There are a bunch of videos on you tube on them. I need to tackle batteries in laser next

Balt Ed. Sorry i guess i never heard of them. SASS is what it is. Kind if like aarp. No offence to members but  it is not for me - i have not been a member in a while.

Evening all.

I'm back down the mountain for two days this time.  Hope it's a real two days, not one of those "hey can you cover for ____ today" two days.  ::)

Had a drug dealer in the county blow himself up today.  He was cooking honey oil, (in case you don't know, that is when they pull the THC out of marijuana with butane.  The result is a yellow liquid that looks/acts kind of like honey.) and apparently forgot not to light his smoke.  Knocked his whole shed down and started a several acre wildfire.  They have it mostly under control now.
