I had a 04 prefixed IAC Trench Gun, My frendly FFL had it consigned at very very good price.
It was new in box, but it seems the PO/consignee was involved with a hostile divorce  :-X.
He was liquidating, his assets, I was told. 
I was looking to give Wild Bunch a try, so it came home with me.
I added a 6th round magazine spring and smoothed it up some.
Fun piece however, WB never really took off in my local CAS posse'  :(
So, I decided to double my investment and let ir go  :-X

Hiya Willy, I have had very consistent results in six different .45 Colt guns [2 conversions, 2 Schofields and 2 rifles] using a 200 grain RNFP from Bustin' Head Lead or the same bullet from Bullets by Scarlett, under 7.5 grains of Unique. Following advice from Coffinmaker, I make sure to keep the .45 Colt loads to strong loads to avoid/cut down on blowby, this load runs two day events without fouling problems too.

Strawhat and Mako, I have truly enjoyed this information on the 1917s, as I love these guns. I am gonna order up some .454 bullets to try out in mine. If either of you two still have a take off barrel I would like to get it from you for a project gun.

Cas City Historical Society / Anyone have extensive use of a carbine on horseback?

I have several lever action rifles and carbines but never actually carried them in a scabbard. For shooting i much prefer the sights and radius of the 24'' rifle platform. Has anyone found the saddle ring carbine to be ideal or better suited than the rifle out of a scabbard? I'm more interested in hunting scenarios than the bandits are on our tail experiences. The rifle never seemed like much of a handicap to me, but I've never spent days on horseback either. Thanks

Good shooting. The only hammer pump better than a 97 is a Model 24 Marlin. I swap back and forth between them. Of course the M12 is da bomb too. We also allow full loading of the pump on the clock which is a lot more fun to crank out a mag full than one at a time. Is slower though.

I just picked this beauty up today. 30" full choke, 12ga, with 2 3/4 chamber. Has a 669 date stamp, so June of 1969. She's east german, but well made. Makes chinese coachgun I had feel like a nerf gun. This is the gun I'm going to use in cowboy action shooting. I'm going to have the barrels shortened to 24" and have her threaded for chokes, that way i can use it for skeet and hunting too. I'm probably going to strip what's left of the finish off the stock and handguard and give it a nice tung oil finish. It has some very nice figuring under the beat up finish. I may have the barrels reblued and have the receiver color case hardened if I can find someone that can do it without damaging the engraving, or I'll leave it as is. Not sure yet. I'm going to make a leather wrap for the barrel. I'm very happy with this one and the craftsmanship. Should be a fun shooter!
It's an extractor shotgun, and the way I see it, I'm giving an old gun a new lease on life. And, I'll have a better shotgun than if I bought a stoager. This is basically a German hardware store gun, GECO was the German equivalent of Sears and Roebuck. It'll never be a collectable, and I'm in this for half the cost of a stoeger.

I have two without arbor modifications that will do under 4'' at 25 yards, but the poi is roughly 3'' high at 12yards, 6'' high at 25yards, and 12-15'' high at 50yards good luck

Attz gonna depend (no not the ones inna plastic package).  I have own'd and set-up a lot of Open Tops.  Two inch groups are not unreasonable.  However, the first thing you would have to do is take the "slop" out of the guns.  They have abysmal Barrel to Arbor fit and that has to be addressed so guns go together solidly.  This applies to ALL of Uberti's Open Top designed guns.  Whether they be Percussion or Cartridge, that Barrel to Arbor fit must be fix'd.  Then your dow to finding the right bullet/load combination the gun likes.  It is the Way.
