Title: USFA Plinker date of manufacture?

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone can help identify the approximate manufacture date of my USFA Plinker. It has a 4.75" barrel, case colored frame, rubber grips, serial number 22687. I am also interested to know if its parts were made in the USA if possible.

Never heard of a "Plinker" model, but there's a lot of things I've never heard of. That serial number range (22,000) would put it in the "probably some Uberti parts" catagory.

Might could tell with photos of the cylinder flutes, firing pin, front sight, cam section on the ejector housing, good close clear profile of the revolver.

Hi,
The Plinker is a .22 revolver. It has a .22LR and a .22Mag cylinder. Photos attached.

From the photos you have provided it appears there are at least some USA parts, coned firing pin and short rounded cylinder flutes. You didn't provide a good photo of the ejector housing cam area to see if it is the short fast cam or the longer gradual USA cam design. Is the front sight tapered, thinner at the top than at the bottom or is it the same thickness from base to top. Is the rear sight groove on the top of the frame pinched (v shape) or a squared notch. Yahoody posted a series of photos on another post as a method of determining if a specific revolver is composed of USA or Italian parts. I am not sure since it is a .22/.22 mag if all the USA part identifying characteristics still apply. Perhaps Yahoody would know.

Blue Book of Gun Values states the USFA Plinker was made between 2004-2012. Yahoody also has a list of serial numbers and dates the revolvers on his list were made. It is on another post on this forum.

In answer to your questions, the ejector housing has a long gradual cam, the front sight is the same thickness top to bottom, and the rear sight groove is a square notch.

From your photos you have provided and what you have said sounds to me you may have an all USA revolver. I am sure Gary Granger would know and also were it falls in the range of serial numbers Yahoody has would indicate as well.

I know this is an old post but it has a good picture of  the hammer on a .22 caliber gun. I was wondering how it is that a .22 rimfire gun could have a firing pin that looks like a center fire?

It strikes on the rim of the cartridge and not in the center.
