Sad news of passing of one of our NCOWS Pard.
« on: December 22, 2020, 11:59:25 AM »
Received news last night of the passing of Dale Svaglic, who had posted on CAS City under the alias C.O.Jones.
Dale was a member of the Kansas Vigilance Committee.

I fondly remember being regaled by his humorus story telling around the campfires, and his risqué signs he'd set up outside of his palatial tent when primitive camping.
Another good man gone before his time.

You were always a good shooting companion.
Dale, we'll meet down the trail and share many an adult beverage and even more tall tales.

"He who will not look backward with reverence, will not look forward with hope." - Edmund Burke

It hit me hard.   Dale will be greatly missed.   I received the news Friday night and it put a shroud over the weekend.   I was able to see him in October and on a Zoom in November.

One of my best times shooting was going up to set up the day before and spending the night with Dale in his cabin.   We talked until all hours and the stories he could tell.   Like the Marine he was, I can see him getting the Heavenly Hosts in better order as we miss him.

Never met the man, but it sounds like he was someone I would have liked to know.

Dale will be missed by all who knew him. We will meet again on the other side, my friend.

Dale was one of the most generous people I ever met.  The first time I met him, he showed up at the KVC Range with an old pick-up truck with the bed full of holsters, belts and all sorts of "cowboy" gear.  And he gave it all away.  He did this just about annually.

Sometimes he would donate a nice prize for one of our shoots and would randomly pick a place for it to be awarded.  How do you shoot for 3rd place? ???

And his stories were epic.

Happy Trails, Dale.

No better story than his 'Fishing for a Possum on the Roof Top'!

I have a picture of him and One Eyed Floozy standing by his tent at the National Shoot several years ago. He was advertising his traveling “ bordello”.
He was a great pard and will be missed.

A good friend is there when you need a friend and he was for me. In turn he was so independent you would never knew what was going on with him.  He was a great pistol shot and worked hard to make me better, I think he thought it was hopeless but we enjoyed the time.  I miss you pard.
