Went to bed earlier, but had plumbing check so I flipped on the Tv to see the ball drop.
The locals around here had some big aerials, and lots of celebratory small arm's fire.
The air smells heavy of smoke, Temps are in the low 40's.

Great New Years Eve for me. The Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings big time. All they have to do is beat the Chicago Bears next Sunday and they are in the NFL playoffs as a Wild Card.

Hiya Gents, we were traveling with family over Christmas and New Year's. The Missus got the flu while we were on the cruise and was sick as a dog for most of it. I just kept praying the Lord would keep me healthy enough to get her home ok. Well, we made the 9 hour drive home, and just to prove the Lord has a sense of humor, about 30 minutes from home I started feeling it! [Gotta change my prayer requests next time] Well, we got into the Doc Tuesday, and thankfully it is just the flu, nothing worse. Loaded up with medicines and shots and slowly getting back to speed. Good to be home.

Please feel better, Slim & Deacon, best wishes  :)

I am hobbling around on a bum knee, Old Old High school varsity injury, that flairs up now and then...
Soft tissue and fluid swelling.
I see my Doc next Monday (tri-annual visit) I'll ask if he can do something.
The added gimp-E-ness doesn't not help alleviate my back pain any  ::)
Sucks being the same age as OLD people !

I used to pray for snow and cold weather so they could make snow. In 2016, I had a hip replacement at the age of 76. That ended my skiing career. We have been living in Florida now for over five years. It's pretty easy to get used to warm and sunny weather. I do miss the skiing but not the snow and cold weather.

On another note, the Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears yesterday and are going to the NFL playoffs as a wild card. They play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The tail end of the Storm y'all are experiencing is headed in this direction.
Of course, no SNOW but we'll see winds, rain & lightening.
The guessers state 50-55 MPH in gusts, most should be west of the I-4 corridor and some north of my County.
Still, the s-word can happen (no, I don't mean SNOW) so we'll be weary.

Headed to the LGS toy store, and then meeting with an old reenacting friend for lunch.

Sent her back about noon yesterday, She made it 10 days this time, progress, the bleeding started again and clots, still the radiation burns on the bladder.  She is doing great, just needs more care again than I can give, looking at least till the weekend.  Fireman scooped and ice melted my steps and joked with me that they would rather do it than haul me in too.  I think they are getting to know us.  We tried to get a non-emergency transport but they were all full and no way I could have cleaned the car, the sidewalks and got her down the stairs.   John has been by and got the rest and cleaned the car but Rita and my Mom told me not to go anywhere, stay at home due to the ice under it.

Got plenty of supplies, but down to 4 pounds of coffee and 300 tea bags, plus plenty of flour, eggs and everything else.  Besides Lexie has a car and her license now and the store by her work is open to 1 am.  Did about an 18 hour sleep in pieces but feel fine.

Oh Slim can't say anything because of HIPA rules but when we call the ambulance we create more work for him. ;D  It's fine though it's city owned and they take what medicare pays, no idea what the full cost would be.

Del, it's a good thing you guys don't live up here.  We were getting emergency alerts on our phones not to go anywhere because EMS services couldn't even get out to people.

Can't compete with the norther's temps, but this morning is our coolest yet this Winter @ 35.°
Coffee is hot and Bacon, Jalapeno Jam on wheat toast as I type this.

Visited my friendly toy store Saturday, He had a pair of cool Remington Eights on consignment.
A 32 Remington (made in 1908) and a Deluxe stocked in 25 Remington (1911), consigned from the same guy who has a Stevens 25/20 Single hot in there.
I guess he has a thing for obsolete and hard to get cartridges.
Course, Buffalo Arms makes the 25/20 BP single shot a $5 a round in box of twenty  :-X

Zoot Shooters might be interested in the Remington's:-\

I'm infatuated in the Stevens, it's just too cool for school, and the photo does not do the case colors justice.

Yep ! both are in Great shape for 112 years old. The Ammo is obsolete though, Buffalo Arms does load it.
However, @ a $3 + a round, 25 Rem or the 32 Rem.
($5 a round for the Stevens BP 25/20 Singleshot)
They are out of my comfort zone.
Kinda like starting your Cookout grill with 5 dollar bills  ;D

Oh sure, I realize one can reload the once bought loaded ammo over again.  :-\
buy the dies etc. and go for it... But I suppose not.

I only link to them cause the are COOL, and maybe someone here might be so inclined.

Good morning my friends. Lazy morning here, day off from the LGS and a Doc appointment this afternoon. Gonna go look at a couple of SUVs after that. The faithful old F150 may get traded soon. Raining and 45 here right now. Had a guy at Church give me a bag of brass last night, it even has some .38 S&W in it!

Rita made it down the stairs for her appointment to day, got buffet all by herself and made it back up the stairs by herself.  Looks like we ain't trapped at home any more if we don't want to be. Even dropped her at the door at Walmart and she got a cart thing. ;D

The sleepless shenanigans of the prior night are behind me.
I did have a brief nap yesterday mid-afternoon and then called it a day about 9 ish.

Temps today will be in the low 80's with rain predicted Sunday and temp's dropping into the 40's.

Plans today, to visit my friends LGS and risk temptation.   :-\

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are hot.

Last night, I drove the Avalanche into and over a fallen tree in the fog. I had driven on that section of the road about 30 minutes earlier without the tree on the road. If there wasn't slush on the road I would have been able to stop before the tree. The plastic/rubber front bumper is cracked. The right side mirror might be a total loss. The front passenger door has a small spot with some damage, but should be fine. The rear passenger door got the brunt of the damage. There is a crease in the lower half that has made the top and bottom of the door bow out so it is no longer water tight. The door does open and close. I might be able to take the inside off and bend it back. We'll see.

'Tis 34 and overcast. High of 39.

The fluids are up to level, so it appears no major leaks. I will change the oil later. So, I will have it on ramps and can check out the underside.

Temptation averted, got home with my meager dead Presidents intact.

I did identify a milsurp someone brought in.
Then went to a BBQ place for sliced pork sandwich.

We got her a new TV yesterday.  Also did lunch at a local 50's theme diner.  Hamb and fries were great but I know why I pretty much cook at home.  ::)   We hit Russ's for a few things, got her a couple bottles of Green River, I got a Red Arrow and a Triple Cola.

Got her in safe, then carried the plunder in, napped and moved stuff around and put up the TV.  Well 4 screws for the 2 legs and plug it in, had to go in at a slight angle for now but going to rearrange the living room anyway.  Last then was plug it in, the rest she did with the remote.  Still hasn't got everything she's owed but the niece is going to come help her.  Amazing I  guess. ::)

Oh, it's a 31 inch and was $98.  Got a CRT downstairs that is a 21 I can't give away I paid that much for.

Wow Slim, glad you are all okay and the damage will be reparable. Del, keep spoiling Rita. Well, we decided to boost the economy and traded my 18 Ford F150 in. Was starting to get a bit harder to get into the big beast, so we traded it in on a Kia Carnival. Yikes, this thing is huge inside! But it is certainly big enough to carry my guncart and all our luggage when we travel.

Such a brilliant idea, she got it all set up yesterday and she listens to it too loud.  No wall to block it like her tablet so I'm stuck with headphones at my desk, no big deal.  But if I have trouble hearing her if she needs something then I will just use my phone for Pandora and she can call and it will interrupt the music. ::) She is finally admitting she is sorta deaf also.
