Barbours linen thread source
« on: November 24, 2021, 08:48:18 AM »
I have been using a spool I got years ago and, as with all good things, it’s done.

Anyone have a source for this these days?  My research has not been productive…

Thank you in advance!

Campbell Bosworth machine company in Texas is where I always got mine although I had a large supply and haven't bought any for a long time but looks like they still have it on their website.

That's where I got mine last time, too. Good to see they're still listing it. It's good thread.

I've ordered a  lot of linen thread from Cmpbell in the past.  However, when I called a few weeks ago to order another 1500 yard spool of 5 cord, I was told that Barbours is no longer available. They now handle another brand and I have to say, it seems to be equal to the Barbours and less expensive.

If it's the same they sold me a few years back when Barbours wasn't available it is good thread, I can't say one is better than the other but I agree the other brand is equal in quality. They say the other brand runs better in the Campbell machines and the other positive it was less expensive.

Last time I bought thread the Barbours was available again in the 1100 yard spools so I stocked up on some of those but that's been before the pandemic happened.

I wonder if Barbours is no longer available permanently this time.
