Just found the CAS City and SCORRS forum.  Was a member years ago.  The picture is for your enjoyment.  Original 1st model 1875 in .44 Rem. and 1st model with updated hammer in 44/40. 

I love Remingtons and have several originals and copies.  I will enjoy reading these posts and learning more from everyone.

Gorgeous brace of revolvers you have there!

Nice to see the lanyard ring on both, as I understand it was a common feature on originals ... yet, to my knowledge, none of the reproduction 1875's have been offered with that option.  I like the look so much that I acquired a set of rings (as "spare parts" for repro Model 1890 revolvers) and installed them on my Uberti '75's ...
