Those that suggest staying away from commercially loaded 45 ACP are entirely correct.  The problem isn't the Cylinders.  the cylinders will do fine.  The problem is the battering the frame will take.  With the "right" bullet/powder combination, 45 ACP can be a real pussy cat.  Gobs of FUN!!

Stay Safe Out There

Thanks guys, I have the gated one already.

I may have some lead 45acp ball already loaded.
When I do load, I'll make sure to charge light and only use lead.

Cheers!

My ancient bullseye target load of ~200 gr soft lead bullet and ~ 5.0 gr unique not only worked well in my
worked over target 1911 but is also perfect for the remington.

keep them around SAAMI spec for the .45 Colt and you should be fine.

Abilene:
Since the ACP ammo in the conversion does not need to cycle a slide, it can be loaded down quite a bit.  If your stash of factory 45acp ammo is sufficient to warrant it (and hey, any excuse to buy a gun, right?), you might think about a single action revolver of some sort with an extra ACP cylinder.
