Well, I have finally done it. Finally picked up a pair of Remington New Model Armies.
I have enjoyed shooting my whole life and black powder for many years but for one reason or another I just never picked up a Remington. I have several Colt style from the 1851, 60 and 61 but just never seemed to come across the Remingtons. Now I have a pair.
Seen these the other day. They are unfired but have had the springs changed in them. They will be shot after this weekend though. ;D
Sorry for the low quality photos. I have the hardest time with the photo sizing here.

Mine is obviously the Sherriff Model

That's a nice pair, Rube. Congratulations. Ubertis, Piettas?

These are Pietta.
I shot them today and can’t believe how well they l and how good they shoot. I actually may have liked them better than my Colt cap n balls. Shhhhhhh

Thanks. Pietta quality is up there these days. I've thought about going with ont next time I get the yank for an NMA.
I like the way you can fine tune the spring with the tension screw.

After another day of shooting today I think these two are my favorite black powder pistols now. They are very accurate and easier to acquire a sight picture compared to the Colt style.
I do think that if I am going to be shooting more black powder I would like to find me one of the stands to make loading easier.
These guns are a hoot! ;D ;D

Congratulations. Sounds like they work good for you. I like mine. They point better than anything else I've tried.
You really want to have a snort, shoot a whole match with one pistol and several cylinders, Pale Rider style. I did that for one annual match. My times sucked but it was a lot of fun.

Yeah, that would be a lot of fun. I'm no speed racer anyways though.

I slammed this rig together for the occasion. It worked quite well. If I had been thinking, I would have made two spare cylinder holders so I could put the empty away before grabbing the other one.

I put a hole in the bottom of the cylinder holder so I could push the cylinder up with my finger from the bottom if I wanted to.

:) SWEET!! ;)
Just plain SWEET!! (I don't like Remingtons)

Nice looking rig.

I never thought I would. I think the Colts are a more elegant looking group of firearms but I can't deny these Remingtons feel good and shoot good.
-
Thanks. They can be a love/hate situation. I like the feel of a Colt open top but the Remingtons just shoot where I point them without any thought.

There is a cylinder loading press on the S&S Firearms website. Look under reloading.
