Title: John Saxon 1935-2020
Post by: Coal Creek Griff on July 27, 2020, 11:01:20 AM
We also lost John Saxon this weekend. He was in a wide variety of movies and TV shows, including westerns. I remember him best as Johnny Portugal in "The Unforgiven" (1960) in which Burt Lancaster punches him for taking a burr out of Audrey Hepburn's hair.

I wondered who would be # 3

Olivia de Havilland,  John Saxon ,  ...maybe Regis Philbin ?  :-\

Neither in Miss de Havilland league ...but still known Hollywood types.  :-\

RIP Mr. Saxon

That guy was the real deal. His moves in Enter the Dragon weren't just choreographed for the film. He was a legit martial artist. RIP

I remember seeing him in Nightmare on Elm Street at the theater with friends in high school.   I was the only one who knew who he was, remembering him from Joe Kidd and Enter the Dragon and to lesser extent the Six Million Dollar Man and the show that inspired X-Files, the Nightstalker.   He always seemed intense in what he did.

I wondered who would be # 3

Wilford Brimley?  I may need to watch "Crossfire Trail" in his honor today... September 27, 1934 -- August 1, 2020
