Who else has "THE BOX[ES] OF HOLSTERS"?
« on: May 30, 2019, 04:44:06 PM »
Today I was trying to organize the garage a bit and pulled out one of the "Boxes of Holsters", to try to consolidate/organize it. Lo, and behold, found one to fit my P-08 Luger! Gonna be perfect for Zoot Shooting! So how many others here have the "box of Holsters"?

The box o' stuff is ubiquitous ....

much like the can o' screws ....

I thought I got rid of all the old holsters I no longer liked, or could not use, or ....
but no, it just metamorphed into a plastic storage bin with even more holsters!

I do... Sort of. Only the holsters are still part of the side of leather. Does that count? I make one at a time, as needed  ::)

I was told that when I got into CAS, I'd become a holster collector. I innocently said - "Huh?" That was back in the era of one gun.

Still got my original saddle skirting Mexican double loop holster and acquired a few more. Never did go to the lined or metal bucket rigs.

Just don't seem Cowboy to me and I ain't a speed shooter.

Which box?  The one with all of the CAS holsters of dubious pedigree and fit?  Or the one for all of the OTHER pistols that were bought, tried and just languish in the storage?   As you can tell, I am quite the holster collector, now if I can pawn some off on the new shooters, that would be great.

My cas holsters are not in a box but hang on my belts, they are mostly Wolfs Ears open tops and half flaps. But I do have a bunch of 1911 military in various conditions and some open tops for shorter bbl length 1911s that live in a box along with a bunch of uncle mikes nylon holsters that I?ve not used in years. I need to rent a table at the big gunshow in Raleigh one weekend. With cooler weather and more clothes I might try carrying my 1911 shorties this winter.

Nah.  Not me.  Never fell prey to too many holsters.  If you believe that ...................  But my excess items of bovine accouterment are stuffed inna dresser drawer.  I have an old 5 drawer dresser inna gun room for "stuff"   So, since I have a dresser for stuff, naturally, I stuff it full of stuff.  I actually looked in it tother day.  Slammed it back shut and walked away.  Maybe some other time.  Maybe.
