MYSTERY HELP PLEASE

Model 1865 Spencer/Burnside Carbine(recently acquired)...SN4585(made spring '65?)...Trying to solve front sight mystery,,,this carbine is 3 groove,20" bbl...havent cerro cast chamber yet, but believe it to be 56-50.   Mystery is front sight DOVETAIL base is there, but blade is missing...Id really like to fab what was there originally..silver? brass? steel ?PROFILE and HEIGHT above BBL..Could someone please send me pic and dims of what was original to this rifle...thanks folks
