Companion revolver for my 94 Swede
« on: November 15, 2010, 06:39:59 PM »
I have ordered an M1887 Nagant to complement my 94 Sewde. I have ordered dies, & brass. Holding off on ordering the lead until I get the revolver, & see what the bore diameter is.

Got the brass in, used my 32/20 dies to load up some test loads.

So do you want me to make Swedish type rye bread at the DoM Muster next year?   ;)

Cool gun, I like those Swedish Mausers and the 6.5X55 round.

I've never used one of the Nagant revolvers, or reloaded for one, but from what I've read on Surplus Rifle Forum, they can be a bit problematic, some of them have worked out ways to do it. Problem seems to be with the Lee dies, I believe they were made to work with converted 32-20 cases, don't work so well with the proper cases.

How about a Swedish version of the Wild Bunch?  Here is the Swedish m/1907 (aka FN Browning m1903 in 9mm Browning Long.)

I have a 1918 manufactured Husqvarna, and an original military holster.  I couldn't find an 1887, so I settled for a Russian Nagant for a fun piece.  BTW; A shooter on The Open Range has a Swede m/1887 and thinks the world of it.

Del, no rye please. I am also waiting for a US enlisted CW frock to modify for a Swede uniform. I said the 1887 would be a companion, but the 2 would most likely would not be used to gather. The M1887 would be used by an officer,  the 1894 would be used by an enlisted. Putting the 2 to gather speed wise would put me behind a Krag & an 1892 Colt.

Use shortened 32-20 brass, a .30 m1 carbine cizing die, a 32-20 expander die, a 32-20 seating die grinded of to the reight lenth so it can crimp the mouth, 10 grain holy black, a normal 32-20 bullet cizet .313.
