I'll bet there are not too many places where you can see wild horses in the wild. These are the wild horses of the Salt River in Arizona. We have had to fight to keep them from being destroyed or sold off by the US Forest Service.

Scenes like that remind me that beautiful places still exist as they did years ago. Went to the Superstitions last year, there’s something about that place that speaks to me. Can’t explain it.

I am not particularly a big fan of horses, but I sure do LIKE all of that open country.

Kent Shootwell:
A horse will get you to some wonderful places and packing on them makes wilderness hunting possible. But feral horses will destroy our scenic lands if not managed.
