Tripp Research mag upgrade kit

I recently was the victim of old magazine springs.  I shot a big match using a well tuned Colt 1911, but ran the match using 15 to 20 year old Colt mags.  After a few stages, I started having the unpleasant "last round in the mag won't feed."  As 1911 shooters know, this is usually a magazine issue.

A fellow shooter recommended I look at Tripp Research.  These good folks from Bastrop, Texas make some of the best 1911 mags around.  They also make a handy and inexpensive "magazine upgrade kit".  For $8.50, you get an upgraded spring and follower. 

I ordered some and installed them yesterday in my old Colt mags (after cleaning the mags completely).  These upgrade kits are good medicine.  All the mags run perfectly now with no FTF issues.
