A few pictures of my 1858 Remington Conversions
« on: January 08, 2012, 01:46:38 PM »

The brass rod on the holster is an antique hinge pin that is used to push the cartridges out of the cylinder if they don't simply fall out.

With a knife my buddy made me.

One shot....Right between the eyes at 83 yards (but with a Contender in "30 Something".....I just thought this was a neat picture!)

Nice lookin' pistols! I love my Pietta 1858. I got the one with the cch frame. Not period-accurate, but pretty nonetheless.

Nice! I always have liked the 1858 and yours is perfect. For curiosty's sake what made you decide to go with the conversion cylinder versus a Richards Mason or Kirst conversion?

I bought them this way from a previous owner.  These conversion cylinders are more "period correct" than the more modern Kirst.

I just bought a set of 1851 Navy revolvers that I building conversion cylinders for. These will have loading gates like the Kirst.

I understand that the case hardened frame was actually available as an extra cost option for factory orders.
