Rita has decided to go back to doing the samples thing at Costco if she feels like it.  Went to pick her up yesterday and pulled in the parking lot and this is a mile or so SW of me heading my way so I grabbed the phone real quick because I was loosing the back lighting.

Best fake tornado I ever saw, just a snow squall with a heavy down draft, the kid and I drove into one about a hour before, nasty ground blizzard for about 30 seconds on both.  Was rotation but horizonal instead of vertical.

I'm leaving shorty for day two of my 2 days a week at the antiquities exhibit o rama  :)
Moderate gate yesterday, if the last few weeks (Sundays) are any indication, I should see a busy day.

39 here right now, supposed to get to 47 today. At least it is sunny. Today is the Missus' Birthday, so will take her to a nice dinner after Church. Y'all have a good day and may God bless.

Afternoon all from rainy Gold Country.

Our pilgrimage was successful, as was that of the equestrian. Been trying to get settled, which is proving difficult due to imprecise labels on boxes. Opened a box this morning labeled “shoes/acc” in search of my boot dryer, only to discover said box contained one pair of shoes, a tin of polish and several winter coats. I eventually found the dryer in the laundry hamper  ???

Mrs. TK has a job interview tomorrow, followed by a visit to the friendly local horse vet for some paperwork stuff, while I have an appointment at the DMV and post office, and try to track down a new pair of fire boots.

Y’all keep dry out there.

We had a coolish start to the morning at 49 degrees and expected high is 80.
Yesterday was flat gorgeous, not a cloud in the sky and a pleasant low 70's

My friendly FFL handed me this project, a NIB Pointer Acrius 20 gauge, it's a Turkish made over/under.
A rather nice-looking gun but quite stiff, you almost literally need to break it over your knee. :o
I was asked to smoothe it up, with the intent it will almost fall open.
I've made head way, but additional stoning is in store.

It is to be a gift to the new owner's son.

Update ... Success !   You can see the machine marks on the extractor (> screwdriver) that is what the
locking lug look like before stoning.

Afternoon all.

Overcast and mid 50s again in the DPRK (K standing for “Kalifornia.”) ::)

In the docket for the day, taking Mrs TK to the valley for a job interview and some equestrian activities, during which time I shall be perusing various purveyors of footwear in search of a pair of fire boots. I may swing by Sportsman’s Warehouse as well to look for some Hornady Monoflex bullets in 30 caliber. The ole’ 30WCF is coming out of the safe for deer season this year, but California requires unleaded bullets. So I have to cook some of those up.

Thank you, Sir.... The gun opens now kinda like a smooth hydraulic strut.
I was not looking to get the loose, fall open of a competition SASS SXS.

Headed to a bit distant LGS and reconnoiter, main reason is hooking up with a friend for a BBQ lunch.
He lives over in another county, and Sonny's is about halfway, the Gun shop is halfway of my travel.

Howdy all, well we endured an inch and a half of "possible light showers" yesterday with temps in the 40s. Today is still overcast but in the 70s and muggy. Thankfully had a yard guy out on Monday to repair some yard damage fro the winter. Now to pick out a couple of bushes to replace the destroyed ones.

It don't get any better than this. Buffalo steak on the grill with Wine and a Cigar. I'm a true connasewer of wine. My favorite is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Aldis at $3.29 per bottle.
All this while listening to 50's Rock & Rock.

decided I wanted to make French toast;
I hadn't had that in so long I could not remember, might be 20-25 + years  :o
I guess I remember how, because it was quite tasty.
Waffles of the toaster variety sure, but French toast not, and if'n I had had toaster waffles in the frig,
I'd might still be on French toast sabbatical  ::)

Went from 77 here yesterday to 55 right now with a "toad-strangling" downpour going on. Working this afternoon and tomorrow, the range will be a mudpit for Saturday's match, so I probably shouldn't be thinking about trying it anyway! Anyhoo, lifting my coffee cup to you all.
