My condolences to Bob's family. Many years ago Bob lent me the use of a Wedge tent so I could camp in the NCOWS Nationals primitive area. He will be missed.

I always liked Dr. Bobs seminars at conventions. He was very knowledgeable, with
quite a collection, (I know I had to have a Sharps derringer after a seminar). He will
be missed and condolences to his family.

He was a long-time contributor to NCOWS - I'm sure he'll be missed.

I am very saddened to hear this news. Always enjoyed his company and he was a man who definitely lived life on his own terms. Attended a lot of events with him and the rest of the KVC posse, and I had the pleasure of getting to know him a bit better when driving back from one of the NCOWS Nationals with him from Evansville, IN.

He came from a background of competition shooting parents, and he was justifiably proud of his skills as a marksman competing in military service. His Masonic involvement was very important to him, and collecting memorabilia and regalia was just one of the many areas he indulged, along with medical and surveying instruments. Re-enacting was also a passion from early on.

The man had the courage to follow his interests wherever they led him, not only historical re-enacting, shooting sports and sharing his knowledge and collections, - but Burlesque and Steam Punk adventures. Truly a Renaissance Man who walked to a different drummer.

Thank you for enriching so many lives, Bob.

I knew of his & family's  USA Shooting Team participations.
I had the pleasure of participating in living History with Bob at St. Augustine and in San Antonio.
I was proud to serve as a member on his authenticity committee when he was the NCOWS Judge.

Bob was quite dapper in appearance
He could appear as a proper affluent fine clothed gentleman or leprechaunish, and often did changing though the day at NCOWS Conventions.
I recall with some humor , he had procured some fine silver Boracay lamay, and had a vest made , it was simply elegant.  :)

He embraced NCOWs , and we are better having him pass our way.

God Speed , Doc Bob we will miss you

What a real shame.  I first met him back in 2005 at the Nationals.  He was definitely dedicated to preserving history and the interest of this sport and this specific Club.  Missed talking to him in person after 2008 but still had this wire for a few more years.

Very sad to hear this new.

I recall meeting and getting to know Dr. Bob when I camped with the Originals at the Nationals back 2013… a very intelligent and well read man who definitely walked to the beat of his own drummer.

NCOWS will miss him.

Sending my best to my NCOWS pards.

Trap good to hear from you as well.  I have been MIA for the past five or so years.  I moved from Colorado to Georgia to help my mom through cancer treatment and will settle here and retire in a few years.  I’m building a log home on my 59 acres of the family farm and plan to raise some cows after I retire… maybe some donkeys and mules as well.

There are no NCOWS chapters down here nor Western shooting, and I miss the fun and camaraderie.  Maybe I can make it up to the Nationals next year.

I need to open up my computer and write some for The Shootist to keep my mind in the sport!

I miss all my NCOWS pards and look forward to seeing y’all again.

God bless all of you.

KK not sure what part of Georgia you're in ...but the NCOWS posse in Colombia SC  is very active and shoot every month.
I have run up there a few times.....

We had Cracker Cow Cavalry here in central Florida , but sadly just three of us left .

Major 2, KK is a little east of Ft Benning.  I think he may be closer to the Alabama bunch than SC.

Howdy, Sergeant Major!
Yep, I live about 30 miles SE of Fort Benning.  I work with some folks there and it is fun for this old Marine to tell war stories to these young soldiers.

If what I see in these young men is representative of their peers in the military, we will be okay.  Some fine young folks.

My best to all of y’all!
