Would either of these boot styles be authentic to the period? I'm trying to find something other than the traditional "cowboy boot".
Don't be afraid to say no if they don't pass muster.
-
Or this one...
-
Look into Congress Gaiters

@Hplummer
I have many pairs of lace up cap toe ankle boots (town shoes). Those styles are appropriate to our era. Less so the plain toe, but they could still work. After breaking my ankle, I frequently find I cannot manage pull on boots. I also wear packer style boots. Similar to your second photo but laving further up the calf and having a boot heel and last rather than the shoe heel and last.

I'm definitely looking for something more work-like and not town-like. Maybe packers would be better.
Trying to find something that an old placer miner might wear.
-
As much as I like my tall mule ears, lace up ropers are about the only thing I can wear anymore.
-
the first picture looks like Red Wing Iron Rangers, and i thing those are based on some "boots" from 1910.

I will suggest you look at the offerings at:
https://www.fugawee.com/home-2/mens/
Maybe the Hi low-Treckers or maybe the Southern Brogans or Jefferson Bootie :-\
I have the afore mentioned Congress Gaitor, Men’s pull-on Shoe that has served me very well.
Family run and Good folks .
There is also Mason Boots you may find something there you'll like..

.....bought a black pair off Amazon similar to these. Wore them to a GAF match this past weekend. I'm going to add some cushier insoles. Mine were relatively cheap but they will do for my purposes. I never cared for cowboy or pull up boots. Even when I had horses, I wore work boots or brogan's for reenacting.

Hplummer, what size shoe are you?
I have a nice pair of ca. 1900 lace-up boots I am looking to sell. Made by Mattimore Harness, out of Laramie, WY. They are identical to their Navvy Boots, the typical working man's boot from the Victorian era. No hooks, all eyelets. Only worn half a season and are like new.

What size are your boots? If they don’t fit Lonnie but will fit me, I might be interested.
-
River City, I'm a size 9.
-
These are 10 1/2 , Wide.
If you may be interested, I'll bring them to the NCOWS National and you can try them on. If they will work for you I'm asking $125.00. (Original price was $300.00.)

If should you like me to bring them to the National, let me know. I'll assume not if I don't hear from you.

Ha. When I was 15, I had size 13 extra wide feet. Family referred to me as the resident sasquach. Oddly by the time I was 20, i had much higher arches and am an 11 D. Up until a few years ago, I had some hair on hide mocs i got in Canada, made for my size 13 extra wide. Sadly they were way too big at that point and wife said she would tackle me if i tried to wear them in public.

River City,
Just my size, bring them along on our trip to Garnet for the "Two-Gun" shoot.
