Howdy,
If you look at the main menu, all the other boards have a picture.
I suggest we use a picture of Jimmy Stewart from the movie "Winchester 73".
Two reasons: One, it's appropriate and two: He was a great American, a patriot, and a warrior and it would be a honor for him to be representing our board. For those that don't know his service to our country..20+missions in B-24s over Germany, SAC, retired AF and all while still making films...google him up...
What say ye...???
I have a pic of him in my signature shooting a 73...

I agree with 1860. We do need our own picture. His suggestion would be ideal.
Thank you 1860.

I think 1860 has an Excellent idea .

Maybe this one or the top one that Major posted..
Doesn't really matter as long as you can tell it's him....

Or we could put on a spoof, use one like these and let everyone else try to figure it out: I guess you can't tell I love the guy...

Hi,
My vote would be the 2nd one of Major's list ... (the one named thumbnal.jpg).
I was watching Winchester '73 for the umpteenth time and was thinking very alike ... that a representation with Gen Stuart and the rifle would be one of the finer pics we could ever find ...
TTFN,
-
I like #2 also.
I have a DVD of "Winchester 73" which has an interview with James Stewart about the movie. If I remember correctly, Mr. Stewart took a Winchester home to practice with so he would look like he knew what he was doing.
-
I would vote for the original one posted by 1860 ::) or the first one of the Majors ;D.

Where's the picture ?

Another vote for Jimmy Stewart holding a "73 as this forum's Avatar.

Rowdy
The board is in flux , right now the Marshal is reviewing the entire BB, some sub catagories may be deleted and some may be absorbed
into a broader Catagory.
Meaning some may cease to be offered.
Marshal Holloway said it would take 30 or more days for him to review the various boards.
I have no idea which subs are in line to axe.... but I expect to see some go away or become child boards within a larger Genre.

Set a time limit and let everyone have their say/vote...majority rules and a tie gets broken by the moderator.
How does High Noon on Sunday sound?
I vote for this one, a classic, if you agree lets here it?

select your piece (photo)
and I'll set it up

That one gets my vote. The other ones are cool too, but when they are so small, it's tough to see the details (like the gun).

Hi,
The Brigadier is always and excellent choice ... besides, how many guns have a movie named after them?
But here is my choice:

Actually, I like 1860s pic ....
-
Actually, any pic is better than nought ....
I will go for any pic with the Brigadier and the '73 Winchester ....
TTFN,

Time's up....

There you go gents :) ...thanks Marshal

The problem with the avatar selected is that the rifle shown is actually a Winchester 1892.
Here’s a good picture of James Stewart with the One of One Thousand Winchester 1873 rifle:

OH NO, poor Jimmy has developed jaundice or at minimum had one to many rotten eggs fer breakfast! Probably the worst of the sepia tones to use for a portrait. I would suggest changing it to a grayscale but the blacks would likely get lost?
