I was stirred up early (4:20 am) by the dog alerting something amiss.
Since we are on lightly wooded acreage and in the sticks (well what I used to call sticks) it would usually be a strange noise or a stray 4-legged intrusion.
However, It is best to heed said alert, better to tell Blaze "It's alright", than be surprised.
It was indeed alright, don't know what it was exactly, but after inspection it was not an uninvited two-legged intrusion.  :-X

So, being I was up anyway and morning ablutions handled I decided to watch a U-Tube or two.
I found this, and it was great.
Syfy, alternate History and very well done. I posted it in another Chat Room but it's worth repeating the link here... hope you enjoy it as I did....

Hard Salami on toast and a cup of Dunkin Donut brand coffee...  :)  yum!

I need to fix a "leaky when on" outside spigot nib (washer is shot) but I have work around a prickly Holly hedge.
I'm quite sure Ill get scratched up some.
I suppose no pain no gain  ::)
Only thing on the list today though... :)

Purty nice day today. Lazy and slept in, then the Missus and I doodled around, went out for an early dinner, got back, watched the end of the Ballgame [Cards won!]. Rest of the week will be getting stuff ready to have a vacation with family next week. Hope y'all have a good evening.

Evening all.

New job is going well. Lots of PT and busy work, but no fires so far. There was some lightning in the area this afternoon, so perhaps tomorrow will be more exciting.

That’s about all from here.

Last day of school tomorrow, yeah.  She got a 2 year scholarship to the Community College, going to take what ever they call drafting now.   Not sure when that starts, but she is going to have to do some bus time.

I went to an all-boys Technical High School and studied Drafting. Before I went into the Army, I worked as a Draftsman for almost three years. We used pencils and T-squares. Now it's all done on a computer with a mouse instead of a pencil. I believe they call it CAD (Computer Assisted Drafting). it's a good profession. I always enjoyed my job. When I got out of the Army, I went to a Community College in Milwaukee. Got a good education there. As I remember, the tuition was almost free in 1962.

Architecture was my initial choice for a career after High School in Racine, before I fell into the Data Processing world.  Loved my drafting equipment (Triangles, scales, Roman Ogees “that is not a misspelling”).
I went to MATC (Milwaukee Area Technical College) for a semester, after having been in the real DP world for 2-3 years, just to find out I could teach the classes I was taking. (IBM crams a semester of college into 1-2 weeks).  Kept that up until I retired.  Now a wish I had a grand-kid to bounce Ideas off-of to keep me up to date on all the new stuff.

The community college I went to was called M.I.T. (Milwaukee Institute of Technology). I could have taught the Drafting class. The name was eventually changed to MATC (Milwaukee Area Technical College).
M.I.T. was a two-year junior college and what I learned there helped me in my work. We received no counselling about college in high school and I was scared about going to a four-year college. At that time, I thought college was for brainy and rich people.

Hiya Slim! And good morning everyone else. 80 here right now with bright sunshine, supposed to hit 85 today. Gonna go in a minute to vacuum the truck for the trip, got it washed yesterday, then meet a fella who is buying a gun from me so I can finance another. Picking up a Colt 1991 Commander today after that. Work this afternoon, then start getting ready to leave Saturday. We will be bring one of our g'nieces home with us for a week, so another [local] will be here too! Will be a fun time, good kids whose parents are raising them right.

I might have took that route, had drafting in Jr High, had if first Semester in HS and never took any more teacher and  I got off on the wrong foot, first damn day he mentioned I was tall and asked if I ever thought about playing basketball, asked him how much it paid. ;D

Well at that time he was the winningest Class A in the state and he plain treating me cold the rest of the semester and I wasn't going to put up with that shit 3 more semesters, 2 of which were double back to back classes.  1972 and the old SOB required a crew cut when practice started.

Used to torment the BB Jocks, some of which were friends, about their haircuts.  But coach won't let us play if we don't.  Coach will have to give in or look bad if you refuse to do it.

Ha ! My HS had a vocational wing, Machine Tool technology, Automotive Technologic, Carpentry,
Graphics, Home Economy, Cosmology and Drama.

Greasers took auto shop, easy girls took Cosmology (guys could not take that  ::))   Just like in "Grease"
Hot girls took Theater/Drama, so yeah Theater!, I took that my sophmore year ;)
I was a long hair surfer type in good shape... coaches wanted to me to wrestle. ::)
Took Machine Tool/ design technology including Graphics to avoid PE in my junior & senior years.

I was a Greaser in High School. The all boys technical school I went to allowed us to have long hair in sports and also wear blue jeans.
