Photo of a Spanish American war family member
« on: October 20, 2021, 11:51:00 AM »

Not long ago I received this photo of a distant relative during the Spanish American War.  After some research, His regiment was ordered to Puerto Rico three days before the war ended and thus never left the country.  Probably why he has a trapdoor rifle.

The Trapdoor was the issued rifle of the militia and National Guard units.

They'd get their Krags in the Philippines.
