I  passed on BBQ for a roast beef sub from Publix ( for those not familiar, its a Florida-Ga. chain of Super Markets, the deli makes a jam up variety of subs or wraps and at bargain prices )

Hope you didn't step on too many "dying in" teenagers while you were there.

Publix all oveer Alabama too- the Roastbeef is a favorite. Kind like their pimento cheese spread too.
Might i add- keep a can if compressed air around. Great for cleaning the little speaker and charging ports on phones.  Or your keyboard

Morning Coffee is up.  Gonna get shower then head to church.

Speaking of groceries. We had a nice Piggly Wiggly store in Aurora but was sold to the arab owner of the mini mart who ran it into the ground and now he uses it for ?? storage. Coming from Bal'mer 46 years ago I'd never heard of a piggly wiggly store. I remember seeing a Pig semi in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Good movie. Now Aurora has two of those ubiquitous 'dollar' stores. I always think when one of these things get robbed, how much money the robber got... a dollar.
Thanks for the coffee.

We still have the “Pig” Piggley Wiggley here and the dreaded Dollar General.  No Food Lions or Harris Teeters or 7/11’s.  I do wish we had Wahwah’s around the area their sandwiches were great. Could get them 24/7, great when you are on the way to a CAS match and you didn’t pack one.

Wa Wa's landed here about 7-8 years ago , first just 2 and it was even local news worthy.
Now they are everywhere,  there are 5 of them within 2 mile radius of my work twenty.... good Coffee too !

I like the Breakfast burrito , subs are fresh but Publix I think are better....

As for Piggly Wiggly , I haven't seen them attempt Florida openings unless it up in the panhandle area ... But their Green Been Casserole is great... and when Georgia or Ala. I get some.

We do have Winn Dixie , but they are closing stores all over the State

Dollar Generals are everywhere here. Even my town, Richland , population about 1800 has one. Nearest bigger town, Lebanon (around 8-9,000) has 5 of them!

Afternoon all.

101 here currently.  Humidity is around 20%.

Just got home from walking the dog.  It was hot, but I have a happy dog now.

"...  yes I agree Publix is better than Wa Wa . Cept they stay open"

Roger that !

Cincinnati based Kroger tried to buy out Winn Dixie ..I think the Feds blocked it  :-\

Now Kroger is looking to buy The Fresh Market a North Carolina based chain and get in to the Florida market and give Publix a run for the food market predominance.

Good afternoon or evening to you all.  Decided to stick my nose in and say a word or two.

What is this thing you are speaking of, calling it rain?  Actually, we had some here a few weeks ago, about .02 inches, caused all sorts of hate and discontent.  I can't come up with any excuses for the way folks here handle precipitation; they are all from places that get a goodly amount of it, but they seem to have a mental block about how to drive and act when it does come down.  No worries for me, though, I just stay put until it dries out again - by the way, did I ever mention that I do not like rain?  Can't figure out why, I lived where it rained for most of my life, and dealt with it, but now, I like living where it doesn't do much of that.

I like my HighPower.  It is an Argentine contract Belgian Fabrique National model 9mm.  Probably my favorite shooter for an all around handgun; just one of those things that is "right".  I had some glitches with it when I first got it, stovepiping with 115 gr bullets, and with some 124 gr; going to +P loads seemed to cure that, so a gunsmith here gave me a procedure to cure it: decide on a load I wanted to use, , and trim a wee bit off of the recoil spring until the gun runs right without a glitch; wound up taking almost a full turn off, but now it runs well with almost anything I can stick in it.

LR talking about the garden and fruit fits me right now, except I don't have the garden, just the fruit.  Mrs. Hairy is bringing me lots of it every time she goes to the grocery, so I'm busy washing, pitting, cutting up, and freezing berries, cherries, and pineapple, at this point; later, it will be something else, but I won't complain, the stuff is good.  Speaking of which----------------

Gotta go see what I need to do about that.

Later.

No joy on the blazer, still running on just 5. Changed plugs, wires, rotor and cap. Don't think it's ignition at this point. Compression from 150-180, not bad for a 200,000 mile car. If it's an injector, I'd rather let a shop do it, if I can get someone on it right away. Injectors on that one are inside the intake manifold.

Rains have abated , at least in this vicinity...but new storms will roll in this afternoon.

What's the event Del.... are you using the new Chuck wagon ?

Rock Creek Station, as in Bill Hickok.

Won't see the wagon till Aug in Kansas.   He is still sorting through the gear.

Interesting trip, roasted, got good and wet in t storm and gave up the bedroll for the pickup seat.  Reason not to have buckets.  That was Friday/Sat morning early.

Had a half cup of ran, I know that cause the 3 coffee cups on picnic table were half full. ::)

Nice yesterday, almost froze last night, could see my breath.   Should have taken more blankets.  Wasn't suppose to go below 65 at night.  Forecast changed about the time I arrived on site.  Got to learn to take more.

A fly may have kept you dry.

Drier air has moved in . With a cool front, at least for a few days.

Suzanne picked a few blueberries last evening.
