Benelli import----No3 Russian

I know they are all made by Uberti and Benelli owns Uberti but I understand that different importers have different standards.
Does anyone have a No3 Russian imported by Benelli [stoeger] rather then Taylors or Cimarrron? And if so have you had any issues with them?
I have bought a couple of schofields [stoeger] which had problems but was fix fairly quick with help from the store I bought them from.
I know alot of these imports have problems of some sort, [I have several] that's just the way it is.
Just woundering.

The one I'm wanting is in 44 russian. And will be shooting black powder.

I am also hashing over another schofield in 44-40 rather then the No3 russian.
But I like the idea of the 44 russian round. Just thinking out load.

Your best bet is for you to review the 'back pages' of this forum to see what problems may've been addressed in earlier threads.

Be advised that these revolvers were built for smokeless powder - not black powder - and that some of them bind up quickly when black powder is used.

Hey Doc, I use a pair of nickel Uberti Schofields in 45 Colt as my main match guns but have recently added a pair of blue Navy Arms Russians in 44 Russian as for using when I want a change. I havent had any problems with the Russians and even though they are what most people call ugly I have found them to be a very accurate point and shoot pistol. The Schofields have required me to shoot with a slightly different angle in my wrists to hit consistently. When switching back and forth from Colt type pistols and break top it like to different worlds. There are advantages and disadvantages to every make (style such as opentop, breaktop, colt top strap type, bisley, vaquero, Remington) but most are adaptable if the shooter does their part. I have never had a complaint with my Schofields or Russians that stopped them being number 1 with me. If I can help out any let me know. I do know that there is a nickel Uberti 44 Russian #3 on Gunbroker and a Taylors Russian #3 blue in 45 Colt on there too.

Nope, it's that other Italian firearms company starting with B that owns Uberti... Beretta.

Beretta has recently started advertising and shipping their new Beretta '73 Renegade rifle, with shortstroke kit factory installed, shotgun stock with recoil pad, and bead sights... and it is made by Uberti. Seems targeted for SASS shooters, but at $1300 I think they're shooting over our heads.

One of my Russians is a Stoeger. No problems with it after many rounds, however the barrel length was different from my Navy Arms Russian. One had a 7" and the other a 6 1/2". Can't remember which ws which, and I bobbed them to both to 5".

After talking to Irish Dave.
Although I love the looks of the Russian, I decided the thumb reach might be a bit long for
shooting dulist.
Anyway I picked up another Schodield 45, 7" barrel.
Took it to the range to see how black powder worked in it.
Shot 45 round with out a hicup. And no cleaning between cylinder reloads.
10 rounds cowboy special 150 gr biglube, 10 rounds schofield w/150 gr big lube and 25 rounds 200 gr bullet.
The one thing I did before shooting was polish the base pin and inside the cylinder. Then a good coat of bore butter.

I've been pestering them to bring out a "Laramie" type (#3) in .44 Russian for some time...Drop them a note.Might help if a few other cowboys did the same.
