RIP William Smith. Just heard that Will Smith of Laredo fame passed away at age 88. Always one of my favorites and got to meet him when I was 9, circa 1975 at the St. Louis airport. I was with my dad, who had boxed professionally for a bit as an ultra-feather weight. Seeing him next to Will Smith was a big difference. Mr. Smith was as nice as could be and gave me an autograph that sadly did not survive the flood of 91. He will always be the only man tough enough to be Conan's father to me.
