I don't have a Pietta so I could easily be wrong, but I thought they got away with it by using the two-position cylinder pin.  And last I heard, Uberti was still using the old system for their so-called black powder framed guns.

The parts are a little different for a flat top. The regular ones fit and work but look silly.

Apparently not a lot of 45-75 shooting going on, but every year a large group of us trek up the NRA Whittington Center range for a week of shooting, visiting, and just enjoying each others company. I take my original (3 digit serial number) and shoot a hundred or so rounds each trip. Theres more than a couple folks lined up to try it.
      I made cut off jigs to shorten donor brass, as I still have a good supply of 50 Alaskan from Starline. I keep 150-200 loaded so I don't run out.

That sounds like an amazing find! The 1865 Spencer Carbine has such a rich history. I love how these pieces connect us to the past. By the way, I've been hooked on Retro Bowl lately—it's a great way to unwind and enjoy some football action!

I checked the other sources and did not find any stock - I was buying the wide hammer, the wide trigger, and the cylinder. GP / Numrich had the hammer and the cylinder in stock - it took maybe a year for the trigger to show up. I was not dissatisfied with the prices.

Well, I done it again! A HK USP 45 hit the shop last week, the price was right so home it came. These guns are brutes, but I still have a holster that fits from a previous one I was talked out of by a Williamson County Deputy.
