Title: New Cimarron "Angel Eyes"
Post by: Abilene on October 26, 2020, 11:10:00 PM
I was browsing the Cimarron facebook page and noticed they finally posted a picture of their new "Tuco" movie gun, a modifed Opentop in .45 similar to their MWNN gun.  Well, they also had posted a prototype pic of another new movie gun, the "Angel Eyes".  It is a Remington convertible with percussion cylinder and a .45 Colt cylinder.  Also the frame is case-colored (yeah, not authentic but looks good) with some pinstriping.  Interestingly, the conversion cylinder appears to perhaps be an R&D (Kenny Howell) type with removable backing plate.  It is installed in the gun in the pic so can't tell too much.  There was a comment from someone on the facebook page that Kenny's patent has expired, so maybe Uberti is now making that cylinder?  That also means that this is not the same gun as their .45 conversion with loading gate and ejector.

Been seeing these come across the different platforms. Interesting.

That is a good conversion. I would buy the components separately, though, because the CCH looks askew to me.

Think I'd rather have the Preacher, more traditional look.......is the Angel Eyes a Pietta gun?  Found some good photos of the Preacher and it's a Pietta, though it does have a dove tailed front sight.  Again, not seen one in person.

Interesting, these are Pietta made, and the cylinder/conversion ring is available as parts, and Cimarron has them in stock!
