Today I'm rendering tomatillos, chili peppers, jalapeños and regular tomatoes into spicy salsa. I'm going to freeze it to use throughout Winter.

Wife is baking chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.

(Hmmmm. I wonder how oatmeal chocolate chip cookies would taste dipped in salsa?)

So cool.... I wandered around the back rooms & up stairs storage ....it's true what the say, Museums have way more in storage than on display....
I looked at foot locker full to the top of Bayonets' of all kinds, one of my jobs will be to identify and tag them.

Displays run Revolutionary War to Desert Storm & and Space Force.

Anyone visiting Kissimmee area, Mouseland etc...are most welcome to drop-in and say hello and tour

Good morning Gents.... coffee is on.

Well Sirs, I'm in two days with my Covid booster & Flu shots, and no ill effects , least non felt or detected.
I'm not a germophobic, but neither do I what the maladies or if I do I want it as mild a case  as possible.

In other news,  today is my 1st. day at the museum , that is as an employee  :)

Perhaps, Teddy Roosevelt will come to life  ;)

Evening Y'all. I was at a gun show this weekend representing SASS and the CAS clubs in this area, I had quite a bit of interest and handed out about 50 Cowboy Chronicles. I'll have to call the new office and ask them to send me more supplies for the next show in January.I guess I have some time on that.

Got home from IA 'bout 20:45. A good time was had by all. Had one fatality. While I was taking videos of the expansion match, my work phone's battery bulged and started peeling the screen off. So, I shut it down. I'll see if I can get the videos off it.

It is on semi-permanent open end loan, by a member.

It runs every weekend of Oct. as Halloween gets closer, crowds will grow, final weekend is Nov. 6-7

Guessers say  88 degrees and 20% chance of showers , there was 10 MPH breeze yesterday and it was not bad in the shade.

Pretty much just go for anything that bites. Around here mostly rainbow trout and squaw fish. Never seen a carp out here, but if one did bite, I’d reel it in.  ::). As it was, all I ended up hooking was an old log from the old lumber mill.

Congrats on the exam TK!

I went thru the examples myself and whiilst some of it is straightforward,
it seems they like to use double-negative word problems loaded with government double-talk
to see if the candidate can figure it out!

I iced tea tonight, a gorgeous day at the Match. Unfortunately, it was a jinxed day. One guy had 2 squibs on 2 stages! I shot lousy, but that was due to trying Duelist for the first time. Overall, a great day.

Spent the morning at the portable Museum @ the  Corn Maze  https://www.partinranchcornmaze.com/
I estimate 6000 people attended all day, I was relieved around 1:30PM came home and did that nap thing  :)

This was the third weekend, next week is Halloween, and it will be the biggest attendance.

Must say, having the antibody infusion to make up for the not enough antibodies my body made after the vax sure knocked things out quickly, felt better Tuesday when they got me back to the car than when I went in, actually haven't felt this good in a month and a half, tomorrow I am no longer considered a Leper and can go back among people other than the two that live here.

Actually had a mild case of the gleep but I have no doubt the Drs at UNMC Med Center are right when they say with out the vax building up some immunity I very likely would have died basing it on others of my health and age that had it with out the vax.  We almost went to the ER last Monday night Tuesday morning before I went to Omaha, had little sleep and had to lay on my stomach to breath.   Since I'm a patient at UNMC they could get me in for the infusion before Lincoln could.

Was such a good boy there Rita stopped on the way home and got me a real A&W root beer, not the canned shit.  Paper cup, but that's fine.

I had a similar result with the Fauci-Ouchie. When the Mrs had “The Krud,” she was knocked down pretty hard, and still not 100%.  I had the sniffles for a couple days, and that was it.

A&W without a frosty mug is blasphemy.

Evening all.

Had a productive, if rainy weekend. Changed 4 sets of window blinds yesterday, I bought a nice Wilson Bomber jacket (it was used and poorly cared for, and required a bit of boot-brushing and half a tube of Obenauf’s LP), and took the Mrs to dinner. Today I changed the rotors and pads on the front of the Jeep, did the wipers, and cleaned the guest room.

58º here now with "Real Feel" 50º. Wind is gusty, Fall leaves are being torn from their branches and swirling.

Tonight will be the final cookout on the grill. Steaks. Tomorrow grill gets put away, the snowblower gets serviced, the air conditioner and patio furniture will get covered.

Morning all.

Cloudy and 45 this morning, supposed to get rain down low and white stuff above 4000. I’ll be spending most of my day up in Seeley Lake for work, which is a nice break from the spaghetti roads of Missoula.

I dropped the Mrs off at the airport about two hours ago for a trip to Kentucky. She’s going with a client to “see about a horse,” as it were. The lady she’s going with is buying a horse from the guy the Mrs used to work for (and from whom we got her horse), and just wanted a mediator. The client is paying for it all, so it will be a nice three day vacation. Meanwhile I have the run of the castle. Which basically just means that I’m stuck with the dishes from yesterday.  ::)

Major 2,
Broke one on right side about 18 years ago, eating popcorn. Dentist wanted to put a bridge in but I just had him pull the tooth. Since it was on the side, it wouldn't be seen unless somebody was jamming their fist down my throat. He warned me that the other teeth would shift as they migrated to fill empty space and my bite would be off.
Still hasn't happened yet, no problems. Saved the money it would have cost for what I considered as cosmetic work.

(Not to say I'm suggesting this as your course of action.)

This is the very front tooth , actually both upper incisors , the one I just broke and the one capped 53 years ago when I was surfing.
That cap has been discolored for years ... :-[.

Mmmmmm, wife soup!

SWMMO coached me through making the simplest mussel stew ever!
Step 1 Read the back of the frozen mussel package
Step 2 follow the directions verbatim

20 minutes later mussel stew with diced potatoes tomatoes!
And it was actually tasty!

I decided that as a transplant from Racine to Reno I should try to anchor the West Cost to the Midwest.  So, I’m adding the Reno weather update to the morning news.  Besides I need to post and not just lurk. So, this is us today:
FRI 10/29
HIGH 69 °F1% Precip. / 0.00 in
Partly cloudy. High 69F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
By the way we got record rain falls over last weekend.  Lake Tahoe’s water level rose 6” (considering the area it covers that is a heck of a lot of water)!  The Truckee River thru downtown rose 6 ft. from almost dry to within 2 foot of flood level.  Nice part of this storm is it raised the snowpack amount on the Sierra.
And this is only October.  We’re hoping to see this keep going thru Jan-Feb (which is our normal wet season.

And thanks for the coffee it’s 5:30 AM here and I can’t get back to sleep.

Light rain and upper 40's here, put on the raincoat and walked a couple miles. Late breakfast soon, pancakes and outrageously priced bacon. Maybe some car  work later, if it either stops raining or I can re-arrange all the tools and treasures junk in the motorcycle's bedroom enough to get at least one corner of the Blazer in there.
