Good morning folks. We got home last night from our visit trip, got the truck unloaded, us unpacked and then just crashed. 1400 miles all told, but well worth it, as getting to see the newest g'niece [boy, she's a tiny thing!], tons of lovin' from her two older sisters, and then went to see my Aunts in the St Louis area. One is on Hospice now, so it was probably the last time to see her in person. Nice visits, good weather, overall, as nice a trip as you could have.

Yes,I found another Magnum with the same color and used that to fix mine.I paid $2000 for the donor car, If I had bought the parts new and had them painted it would have cost twice that.Plus the donor car had other parts I can use. Once I'm done stripping it for parts it will go to the salvage yard.

  >:(  I hate scammers  >:(

they are in full swing right now....

I got an email scam from a friends hacked email account

Claimed he had Covid, could not talk in the phone due to sever sore throat.
Claimed, Doc. said " he could not go out for some reason"   ::)

Scammer wanted me to buy an American Express Gift card, for his nephew's B' day ,

no amount requested just " to buy a card "and he would me pay back.... ::)

yeah right!

it came from his email but also linked to the scammers G-mail account, had I responded.

point being his email is hacked...and is sending to his contacts, another mutual friend got it as well.

Good evening folks, rough day yesterday. Tripped going to my Doctor, hit my head on a brick cornerstone, got into the Doctor's office covered in blood, bleeding like a pig. Wound having to get a dozen stitches in my scalp. Definitely could have done without that. No concussion thankfully and being spoiled by the Missus. Think I will grab some coffee.

Well, Deacon, I guess it you're gonna have an accident like that, having it while you're already going to your doctor is...ummm... "convenient". Glad you're all stitched back together and doing better.

Greetings from Africa.

Weather has cooled down a few degrees this week. Down from highs in the 110-115 range into the high 90s. I’ll take it.

The new unit replacing ours has arrived. Now it’s just a matter of getting them up to speed and getting out of here.

As far as other excitement goes, I spent all morning in the wing of a plane changing a pair of O ring gaskets. In any other connection in that part of the wing it would have been 10-20 minutes, but of course it had to be the most difficult one and took 5 hours. And I got soaked in JP-8, so that was fun.

Glad to hear everyone is still on the plucking side of the daisy circle.

Decon, I hope you are doing ok.  Trying to do some cleaning around here wife is off with craft friends and GD in hiding in her room with friend/friends, not sure how many have showed up, she turns 18 on Thursday.  I'm thinking of getting me a mechanics stool on wheels to use cleaning, I can now breath bent over but the back won't take it at all, not really sure if the antibiotics are doing there job, got MRI scheduled the 12th but it could be done earlier if need be.

Greetings all.

Another hot and muggy one in Africa. 98, heat index of 115. A bit toasty for my taste.

Had a big inspection today. Customs and someone else from a long acronym agency that I couldn’t spell even if I wanted to. They gave the white glove treatment to all of our greasy equipment that has sat out in the dust storms for the past 4 months. Took a lot of cleaning. I got to be the team lead on a couple of pallets, despite being the most junior ranking member of the team. I think I did okay at it.

Howdy all, been gimping around here the last couple days as the Missus takes care of me and keeps me on a short leash. Much better today, actually got out and ran a couple of errands. Got some iced coffee and gonna watch the Cardinals game in a bit. TK, you take care out there.

Last weekend of the summer is creeping up.  That means here in Reno/Sparks it’s the smell of BBQ ribs and later the influx of alkali dust!

The Burners are packing up and heading out to the Black Rock Playa for a week of Burning Man.  They’ll be back around the 1st with vehicles a common shade of light grey from the desert dust.  That means bottled water is rare to be found, and next weekend you won’t be able to get near a car wash.

The more sane people will be found in Victorian Square in Downtown Sparks this weekend.  Sampling BBQ ribs from over 20+ rib cookers and other food vendors.  Plenty of ribs, beer, grilled corn, crafts, and other pleasures are all to be had in a more civilized atmosphere.

I’m opting for the latter as it has facilities and is free.  The former costs over $500/person to get to cook in the sweltering desert with no shade and nice alkali dust storms.

Let ya know how it goes next week when all settles down.

Slept in, thanks for the coffee enjoying mine now.
Actually, I was up just before dawn being cold nosed by Blaze.
Once he made his plumbing check and I mine, I went back to catch another few winks.

Hoping for your recovery KC
