Annual Wild West Fest, Aiken, SC Nov. 5-6, 2022

The 4th Annual Wild West Fest will be held November 5-6, 2022, Saturday and Sunday, in Aiken, South Carolina.  The event location will be the Battle of Aiken Park, 1210 Powell Pond Rd., Aiken SC, 29801.  This event is open to the general public and is family friendly.  The schedule consists of a Old West, Frontier-themed atmosphere with vendors, reenactors, several speakers on topics of general interest, and live-fire shootouts using blanks every hour.  The event is sponsored by the Sons of Confederate Veterans.  Our posse, the South Carolina Old West Shootists, has been invited to attend and assist with the festivities.  We we will have a display and recruitment booth set up.  There will also be food vendors onsite.  Here is a link the the event, for your further information and consideration https://battleofaiken.com/wildwest/  For safety, because of the realistic reenactments and live shootouts using blanks, no live ammo is allowed on anyone's person, who will be taking part in the any of the events.  I have been to this every year, as have most of our posse and sometimes with one of my sons, and we have always had a blast.  If you have any questions, you can find my contact info on the NCOWS web page, under POSSES, here http://ncows.com/posses/scows.html  This is a very worthwhile and enjoyable way to spend some quality family time, or to just enjoy a little of the Old West, today.

Hello the Fire,
The Annual Wild West Fest in Aiken SC was a great event this year as in past years. Our Posse (SC Old west Shootists) had an information table, talked about NCOWS with many folks. Our posse also engaged in several historical shootouts. These are real crowd pleasers and seemed to be enjoyed by all.
Looking forward to next year.
