« on: May 20, 2018, 07:29:17 PM »
Picked up & shot my new acquisition this weekend, a S&W 1899 Target, manufactured last year of production, probably last month, only 169 manufactured after mine. I have a new favorite. sn 20806, total run 20975

Yes please pics and a serial. My earliest .38 S&W Special Target is built on a 1905 HE frame. A '99 Target without the forward under barrel cylinder latch lug would be wonderful find.

Nice pic. Pinned Paine type front target sight. The rear looks very interesting too; is that a tab on the rear sight windage adjustment screw? Hope to see it at Muster in a few weeks.

There is a windage adjustment screw on each side of the rear sight, loosen the side you want to move the sight to, then tightened the other.
