Congratulations Jack! Iver Johnson is was and the model was the Safety Hammerless which started production in 1895. I inspected one of these at a local gunshop just last week and was amazed at what I found. The piece seemed to be in good shape except the bolt would not lock up and allowed the cylinder to move at the most inoportune time. That I am aware of, Colt didn't actually produce a transfer bar system on any of their guns. HOWEVER, I have been known to have been wrong in the past.
