Title: Baltimore Antique Arms Show 2019
Post by: Walksfire on April 17, 2019, 09:06:16 PM
I attended the show in Timonium again this March, while server was down. With due diligence, I collected all the types of Spencer's for sale there. And there were many in all shapes and prices. I wrote it all down somewhere.

I have been going to this show every Spring for several years.  There are usually somewhere around 30-50 Spencers for sale.  I did not keep records like you did, but this year I was looking for post-war models (1865, 1867, NM) and only saw a couple of those.  I believe I also saw one Burnside carbine modified to rifle.  Other than that they all seemed to be 1860 rifles and carbines with a fairly high proportion of rifles.  One for sale rack had several "identified" 1860 rifles.  I did not attempt to verify whether they were in the Springfield Research lists or identified in some other way as they were all far above my price range and too difficult to get out of the rack (possibly by design).  As always it was a very enjoyable show.

While I wasn?t looking for anything in general I do look for Webleys and it was very slim pickins this year. Maybe half a dozen. I did look hard at numerous S&W schofelds but too rich for my blood. But it was a very good show, bought my nice Krag and sold my moulds, and I would recommend it highly.
