Just bought my first USFA from Rock Island a couple weeks ago. As you can see, it came with a lot of extras. I bought it mainly because it was a John Wayne edition but now I'm learning a lot about USFA.  :o Are there any sites out there for USFA with history and such?  ???

My serial number is 2RR so now I'm hoping to find RR2 if it's out there.  ;D

Oh yeah, I can't figure out what the large square box is for. It has 2 rectangular boxes inside. One without a lid. The black revolver box won't fit into either of them.  :-\

Holster, belt and a display case?   You have a rare version of the RR besides the serial number, it is also a BP frame.   Most are cross pin frames.  Reallly nice fake (?) ivory on yours as well.

More info here on the USFA guns, there are several pages devoted to serial numbers and the parts used.

YAHOODY, if you are still collecting serial number data on the John Wayne Red River D revolvers, I Special ordered mine at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV. I asked for a personal Special Serial Number: RR751. This firearm has a 4-3/4" barrel, Chambered in .45LC, Antique Finish, and 2-pc HR (Old Ivory) Smooth, Regular size Grips. My firearm was delivered to my store, Camarillo Shooters Supply, Camarillo CA, on 6/30/2008. I also received the Bianchi-made Belt and Holster, and the Commemorative Boxes for the Revolver and Belt and Holster.
