I had one of USPFA 1993 Shot Show prototypes, it was made by Dave Anderson from ASM Parts.

Image 42 makes me think Uberti base guns.....the hammer has a block out of it that would match the cutout for the hammer block Uberti used on these.....they just omitted the screw at the side to turn the block......USFA may have bought parts from Uberti and did enough work on them and finished them to be able to say "Made in the USA".....it doesn't take a lot really, and if not, if they completely tooled up to make this from scratch, and onlt made an estimated "12" guns, then now we can understand why they went under. ;D

Good catch!  You can see that in a number of pics towards the end.  Kinda interesting checkering on the hammer spurs.

Graveyard Jack

"Made in the  USA"......with Uberti parts. None of the percussion or cartridge conversion guns were made from domestically sourced parts.

They didn't "go under". They quit.

An absolutely GORGEOUS pair of guns.  HOWEVER:

AN ENORMOUS PLUS ONE for Graveyard Jack

Those guns were made from Uberti Parts.  Also, admitted to have been "Re-Nickel'd" by Turnbull.  I also agree, USFA didn't really "Go Under."  The patriarch simply quit.

There will probably be a Rabid Collector who will gladly pay that price for gussied up Ubertis.  Extensively gussied up but Uberti roots none the less.

Well yeah Ol Don did quit making very nice SAA's
But, USFA did go under as a result of the ZIP.

 :)  Well OK  ;)

Sort of.  As far as I know (very little), USFA was selling everything they could produce??  So good Ol DON quit making SAs, and came up with the Abomination called ZIP.  Then they went bust.  Had USFA continued on the High End SA path, Id think they (USAF) would still be here.  Maybe.  Sorta.

Graveyard Jack

If I wanted a really nice "open top" Colt, be it a percussion gun or cartridge conversion, I'd just buy a new Uberti and send it out for refinishing. Oh wait.....

 :)  Graveyard Jack  ;)

And such a swell Open Top Percussion or Richards Mason it could have been too.  Oh!!  Wait!!  That's your R/M??  Really really nice gun it is (Drool Drool).

LonesomePigeon

Graveyard Jack, that's as purty a cartridge conversion as any USFA.
