Greetings from RIC
« on: December 06, 2020, 02:14:54 PM »
For those of you unfamiliar, RIC is Rock Island Auction Company. I went there today to attempt to acquire a Merwin Open Top Pocket Army in 1873 Winchester, acquired Lot 3231.
Greeting guests in lobby was Santa behind a Gatling Gun. BTW it was lot #248 from Thursday.

The trip to Rock Island that John Hoker set up for the first NCOWS Convention they hosted in Davenport was definitely a highlight!  First thing when about 40 of us sat down for the introduction they passed around 2 Volcanic pistols(one engraved) for show and tell. Pretty sure that's the only two of those I'll ever have my grubby little mitts on. Another thing I remember is the 55 gallon drum that was quite full of ammunition removed from "unloaded" guns that came through the door to be auctioned. Was the Gatling an original,  what did it sell for?

It was great fun.
