I bought a pair of Fugawee Congress Gators about 15 years ago.

https://www.fugawee.com/product/congress-gator/

They were the bomb, cooler in Florida Humidity and heat over my
Cavalry Boots (which I bought in 1990 and still have)
The Fugawee's a nearly twice the price I paid back then, but well-made and have serve well.
However, I now wear Amazon Chelsea Boots because I need the
traction security over the all leather sole of the Congress Gators.

leather soles are wreck in the making on dry grass, pine needles, marble or tile floors, don't ask me how I know  ::)

I have an opportunity to pick up a couple thousand "Magtech" small pistol primers.  Any of you folks have any experience wid 'em??  I don't shoot much "Small Pistol" but no point in grabbing 'em if they aren't totally reliable (Light Springs Reliable).

Appreciate any commentary, Thanks

Several years ago, I bought a pair of Chelsea Boots after my Mule Ear Boots wore out.

:) Begle ;)

Forgot to mention, "Entry Level" is a Miss-Nomer.  There are "less expensive" single actions out there, but one must remember you "get what you pay for."  Most lower price guns are based on the level of exterior finish.  The Lock Works are the same as the higher priced spread.  Many folks out there who run and win championships with Ruger would be really insulted at Ruger being called "entry level."

I'm linking to this thread on the Colt Forum specifically because it mentions several discontinued single actions you may find on the used market (and some of the issues that may pop up).

https://www.coltforum.com/threads/virginia-dragoon.391586/

One that hasn't been mentioned is the Heritage Big Bore.  Another discontinued one is the JP Sauer & Sohn (West Germany) Western Marshal.

I know where there's a classified listing (not mine) for a Cimarron black powder frame revolver in .45 Colt with 4 3/4" barrel for $420 shipped.  The ad's from earlier this spring but hasn't been taken down yet, and it's a forum where old-fashioned shooting irons get as much interest, so it may still be available.  The gun looks good from the few pictures in the ad.  PM me if you want a link to the ad.

Quote from: Begle1 on Yesterday at 01:42:34 AMWhile I'm monitoring classified ads and GunBroker listings, is there anything I should be looking for beyond used Ruger Blackhawks/ Vaqueros and the assorted Italian imports?

You might take a look at the Pietta Great Westerns. I have a pair in 38//357 that have been flawless in their performance with no "slicking up" except for new grips. I have Vaqueros and Remington reproductions, but I shoot the Pietta's at matches

 :) Hey There Begle ;)

Actually, your "qualifiers" eliminate the better candidates for your states purpose (smaller hands) and you should keep in mind, the Italians don't make "SAA."  "Single Action Army" are made only by Colt.  ALL the others are Replicants.
