Just thought I would share my new rifle.
« on: April 29, 2009, 10:14:05 PM »
I picked up a new "to me" rifle this past weekend. Its the first rifle I have in .357/.38 and its already been worked over and slicked up and I mean to tell you this baby is slick.

Anyways, here it is. Its a Hartford model 1892 with the octagon barrel. It does not have the funky safety on it either like my new Hartford .45 colt.

Nice wood on it - good acquisition!

My carbine had that safety on it - I removed that within a week!  ;)

Yeah i have one with it on it and plan to get rid of it. This one though didnt have it. I like that it dont for sure.

Is there any way to date the Hartfords?

Wow, that is one beautiful rifle.  I have one with a fancy stock like that, and a feller came up to me at the range and asked me if the stock was plastic!  Ha!   :D
I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning!
