Man, I really like how slim and sleek the 1860 with the Kirst is!  As much as the Uberti 1860 Richards Type II were cool, they were significantly larger to accommodate a lawyer certified 6 shot .45 Colt cylinder.  In the same 1860 BP Slim Jim holster that I used with the 8" Uberti factory conversion (which would not quite seat all the way in) the Pietta/Kirst fits down in like it's a glove.

The closest Uberti is the 1872 Open Top when it comes to sleekness.  I still think a pair of Open Tops in 44 Russian would be awesome, but that would mean a whole new caliber!

Now if Walt would only do a 6 shot .44 Colt cylinder for healed bullets!

HEY!!  Brought my "Project Thread" back to the top so friends could see "Our" Kirst Saber River stuff.

Tuolumne Lawman,  Now I'll cause you great consternations.  I have a 44 Special 1866 I converted to shoot 44 Russians, and cut it to a 16 inch barrel "Trapper".  Super Cool.  Plus, to be even more fun, I added .44 Russian (Special) Cylinders and .44 Barrels to my '72 Open Tops.  Closest you can get to Yesteryear without a Time Machine.  Two Kwel for Skule you betcha!!

Oh yes! I like them both a lot. But that 1860 is just gorgeous. Nicely done TL.

At first, my caffiene starved braincells thought you either had a new child, or a "Baby Kirst" whatever that could be .

But Lo! you have made the perfect pair of Long and Short!

I love them!

Its a shame SASS doesn't allow shoulder rigs.  The Avenging Angel just screams for a Doc Holiday rig!

SASS allows shoulder rigs.  Used to know several folks using them, I think they quit because they are harder to safely use than it looks.

From the rulebook:
- Holsters may not depart from the vertical by more than 30? when worn.
- Although cross draw and shoulder holsters are legal, extreme care must be
exercised when drawing a firearm from a cross draw or shoulder holster or
retuning the firearm to leather. The user must ?twist? their body, if necessary, to
ensure the muzzle never breaks the 170? safety rule during the process.

I am so in love with my .44 Colt 1872 and R-M, I have made the caliber switch.  The 1872 is an author gun, and if I want to keep it (as I do), I need to sell the engraved Kirst Saber river gated 1860 to pay for it.  It is unfired, though I fine tuned the timing and milled the loading port.  It needs no FFL, as I will ship as a BP revolver, and send the rest separate.

I have $310 into the 1860 and the Konverter alone would set you back another $600 + shipping.  And then there was the work to mill the port (Kirst charges $125) I am selling fort $695 + shipping.  These are limited production items.  I am offering to STORM brothers first, before going to CAS-City and SASS Wire classifieds.

Its not that I want to sell it, but I need to to keep the author 1872 .44 to go with my 1860 R-M .44
