Hi  Drydock

I PLAN on being there this time.  I should have time to be there.  Where is the range, trying to pick a hotel.

Test fire with solid shot successful.  Results on fortification material encouraging.  Thorite shells not available at this time.

Sir, are alcoholic beverages allowed on the range Saturday evening after/during the protein burning, chocolate/marshmallow melting activities?

Respectfully yours,  Major B.N.S.

Good question.  I see the range director sunday, I will confirm this and get back to you, however, I do not believe it will be a problem.

UPDATE!  The range is owned by 2 local pds.  They have said NO alcohol!

Therefore!  I challenge all attending Saturday evening to bring their most local, most regional, or just the weirdest soft drink you can find!  I will have sarsaparilla and a root beer brewed in Herman MO.

Lots of interesting stuff on line if you've nothing but Coke and Pepsi available.  And of course, what you do in your motel room is none of my concern . . .

Thank you for the update Sir, I suspected with the LE connection that there might be a strict alcohol policy.  No matter, I find the gentlemen of the GAF to be entertaining even in a sober state!

Will some of the chili be used to case-color any guns or knife blades this time?  :D

Can we subsidize an extra supply of artillery shells?

You might enjoy having some extra 12 ga slugs.

Sir, what is the state of affairs in central MO?  Here, dine in restaurants are closed and non essential travel is not advised.(even though the gunstore was full of people last week gearing up for Armageddon) Would camping and cooking at the range be an option as opposed to what I'm sure are mile long lines at the drive through windows? This Chinese virus crap seems to be getting worse daily?

Most restaurants in Jeff City and Columbia are take out or Drive thru right now.  Though I did have breakfast at a Waffle house a couple of days ago.  Checking the websites of several around the Rolla/Ft Wood area they seem to be open, though I cannot vouch for next week.  If you would like to camp on the range you are welcome, I will head down Saturday morning and will have the gate open.  Forecast for the weekend is partly cloudy, highs in the low sixties, lows around 40.  Traffic around here still appears normal.  Fuel is certainly cheap!

If you have indicated you are coming but decide not to, please let me know.  I do promise proper social distancing will be in evidence.  As we are out in the middle of nowhere!

By the time of the Gatling Gun at least, if not earlier due to field artillery, I'm sure soldiers observed "social distancing" during daylight hours.

After a few weeks in field with unbathed soldiers in unwashed clothing, I'm betting sleeping bags also observed "social distancing".  :D

Gentlemen and Ladies of the Brigade, it is with heartfelt disappointment that I bring myself to cancel the DIVMO Muster.  I had a dozen commitments from 5 states, but with increasing travel restrictions, motel and restaurant restrictions, too many have had to pull out.  I understand, and while holding out hope until the last, it has come to this.  My sincere regrets, as I think I had something really special planned for all attending.  We'll try it again next year.

In particular, the Nebraska contingent was concerned they might not be allowed back into the state.  As I suspect NE has been looking for such an excuse for years, I appreciate their concern.

Drydock

I hope to see many of you at the Dept Muster next month.  I will bring along the light artillery.  However, what do I do with 24 cans of shaving cream?

That is disappointing, of course.  :'(

However, what do I do with 24 cans of shaving cream?

Check the expiration dates, if the cans have them. Donate the ones you won't be using to the Salvation Army.

That's probably for the best.  Them Nebraska Ruffians are a suspicious looking lot.

I'm thinking that the shaving cream will last until Halloween, didn't actually get into the decorating like some people.  I do remember from Bama that shaving cream does kill Bermuda grass.  Our neighbor had a teen age daughter.
