My 87 does it as well, I have had to find case's with a bigger dia rim. it happen less know but still a problem.
The exstractor rides over the rim.

I must look at the problem again to see how it can be fixed.

don't know if you've sorted the the extractor issue, but i had the same happen with some reloads that i forgot to re-size and they were a little sticking in the chamber. I tried stretching the left extractor spring, that worked for a bit, so I put a small packer behind the spring and that's working well, if i start having trouble I'll find a heavier replacement spring. i also bent the left shell carrier inward a little as it wasn't ejecting loaded/weighted shells, if i do my bit the gun runs well.

Peddler, if you continue to have problems, or if you just want it to run really nice, contact "Lassiter" over on the SASS wire.  Tom is the Guru of the 87.

PS:  He's not necessarily close but he is the best.

Coyote Cap did my 87. He slicked it and did a two drop system on it. It works great and very dependable. He does some outstanding work on these and 97 pumps.
