Hello,
Any info for a Spencer with a serial number of 56319? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Peachey,
I'll check on your Spencer serial # and get back to you . . . are you joining my Spencer Shooting Society? You need to register and Email me your Email address . . . just send me an Email telling me you want to join to fsgrand2@fairpoint.net.
Thanks,

He can tell you about the Burnside as well. And may have info on the Sharps. The Buffalo gun guys may also help.
-
Drydock,
Why are you using Popeye as your avatar . . . I'm curious for a special reason.
BTW, who is the "he" in your post?

He is you. And I'm a grouchy old retired sailor. That's Poopdeck Pappy BTW. Popeye's rapscallion father.

Sent an email for the SSS today.

Clayton,
Your Spencer serial # is 56319. Closest to your serial # is:
56331, a Spencer Carbine issued to Company E, 6th Indiana Volunteer Cavalry in July 1865;
also
56323, a Spencer Carbine issued to Company D, 6th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry in 1865 (no day or month listed).
Best info I have. Spencers were issued in no logical sequence of serial #s . . . please read my Spencer Serial # Disclaimer on SSS.
