I had this posted on the NCOWS board and it was suggested that I post it here for you Remington fella's to look at. First this type of stuff (great gun deals) never happens to me, I am more of a retail plus 10% fella. And I wasn't looking for the gun when I went to the recent Michigan Antique Arms Show, thought it would be nice to own one since they were such a part of history, but could live without one since they are getting pricey. Anyway, walking past a table I looked down and saw what I thought must be an expensive repro, ignored it. Walked past again, thought what is this guy thinking, on my last pass before the show closed for the day I felt it beckon me as I walked past the final time. Wow, it sure looked like the real deal - heck it was the real deal that looked as if someone had reblued it probably with cold blue. The guy at the table was gone, but the guy at the next table leaned over and said - "he's gotta have 750 for it". The check book poped out of the coat pocket on its own, I swear it did.

Anyway, Serial #s on barrel, grip frame, trigger guard and back of cylinder all match and in 56xxx range. Inspectors marks: R rt side frame ahead of cylinder, S rt side of frame above hammer screw, W on trigger guard, Lft side of frame ahead of cylinder, lft. side of  barrel as enters frame, and loading lever, and twice on cylinder, K stamped on rear of cylinder. Gun is tight with just a very slight fore and aft movement of cylinder probably indicative of 130 years of use. Bore has very, very, very, slight pitting. All in all a beuatiful gun if you can get over the cold blue aspect. I more of a shooter of old guns than a collector. REAL HAPPY with this and the price. This stuff never happens to me. Proper three line text on top of barrel, only very thin and worn. Take a look.

Oh yeah, outline of very light cartouche on lft. grip

Wow... nice deal. At the gunshow I went to last weekend they had a pair of Dragoons that the guy wanted $2500 and $4000 for... If he was asking $750 I would have bought as many as he had.
I am jealous.

Great looking Remington,  and a great deal too!

I was able to get a genuine example at a bargain price too;  Like yours,  Mine had been re-blued sometime in the past.  How many "purists" turned their noses up at our Remingtons because they had been messed-with?

Their loss is our gain!
