Dang thing wouldn't let me post the last couple days, woops, somehow it logged out.  ;D

Nothing much, harvest seems done or at least beans, breathing better and O2's are better.

Another notch on the fish gun. Fat doe this time. Fish gun is an early 1895 Marlin, old enough to have a straight grip stock, and of course no push button safety. Got an equally vintage steel Weaver K-2.5 scope. I can still get by target shooting with irons, I really can't see the sights well enough for hunting. Last time I tries was with my 03/A3, ended up tracking it and had to shoot it again.

It logs me out like that sometimes, too.

My renter finished his beans last week (at least finished on my place).

Howdy all, good to hear you're better Slim. 76 here and mostly sunny today here. Waiting around for a new deep freeze to be delivered so finished off the coffee and just watching the news. Fought a fight over the weekend with a mild virus and am much better today. Anyway I will get to pick up my "new" Savage 99 Friday, looking forward to that. Y'all be good.

Been a while, have had the stuff. Made a bunch of filling the other day and froze it. Also made a large amount of spice mix. Starting to smell good.

Look at people's chili recipes, most use chili powder, no 2 brands being alike and then they add other spices, the same that are supposed to be in the chili powder. ::)

This mix will work for red chili, taco's, enchiladas and anything else that needs it.  Came out at 1 1/4 pounds, extra is vacuum sealed in the dark, got a similar jar of the crushed red peppers if I need to spice up and a pickle jar brewing pepper sauce.

Wasn't bad for having not made them in a couple years.

Ended up with a dozen, ate 6 and have 6 in the freezer on wax paper, will bag tomorrow.  Have about the same amount of meat and will watch for cheap pork.  I think a bunch of those in the freezer is a good idea.  ;D

Evening all.

Back and forth weather for the past while. Don't know if I should pack the sandals or mukluks for work.

Been busy on prescribed fires the past two weeks. I keep drawing the short straw to be "Burn boss." I'm beginning to suspect some form of slight-of-hand in the drawing process.

Currently sitting on my front porch waiting for my wife to get here with a house key, as mine did not make the boat home from work. Sometimes my genius is frightening.

Did I ever mention I have a dislike for Yuppies and Hipsters?  ::)

OK, ordered a repo M-1907 sling for my 513-T, it's what the used on them. I have worked with them before, but it's been 25 years.  Anyway, decided to do the modern thing and look on You Tube, cool several, several 10 minutes or so long, damn, how could you make a video that long on a simple task? ::)

Found one about 3 minutes long, much better, still too much dribble and when he gets to it mumbling along there is some company logo covering stuff up.  I can't see the details.  Damn Yuppie trying to promote his company.  :o

OK, another one about the same length, some kid, well not all young kids are dumb, so start following him to the part where he realized he'd F***ed Up and started over.   :o  Well do it over dummy.

I shut of YT and googled 1903 Springfield, found a nice simple picture and it's all fine now.

I used to keep a spare car key in the briefcase.
Then one day I locked the briefcase in the car.

Afternoon folks 59F here and drizzly. A mild annoyance with the new deep freeze. Didn't show the day it was supposed to, causing me to miss the funeral of a man I had known for 30+ years and respected greatly. Then when it does arrive the next day, I get it unpacked and it has several small dents on both of the sides. Well, the Fedex guy had skedaddled as soon as it was unloaded so we call Walmart and asked for a discount, but they cannot do that. So they gave us a refund and will have someone pick it up Monday.

Many thanks for the kind words. I'm in a rehab facility in Minnesota and hope to get back to Florida within the next two to three weeks.

I have a podcast on YouTube entitled the TOO OLD FOR BULL show where I do a series of videoa based on my views and expriences, Here is the link to recent video entitled "Things we take for granted".

I just found out many more very simple things in life that I've been taking for granted.

You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself
