Worked at home today was a bit sore from the gym.  My desk was kind of a mess when I left and got a bunch done with it today.  Lexie can stay as long as she wants but a little bit of me hopes she moves out next year when she's done with HS, says she's going tom wait and decide later if she wants to go to college.  When she does I get that room back for an office, Rita will use it too some, but it will be mostly me and we won't have to have the TV and my music fight, actually works OK, she has hers loud enough to drowned me out and the same with her, we get reprimanded for it once in a while but she's right, it's when she can't sleep and has school in the morning.

Some more to do but moving on tomorrow and will come back and fine tune later. ::)

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

'Tis 60 and sprinkling. "Cloudy with light rain likely and a chance of thunderstorms in the morning  then partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent."

Good afternoon to all you fine folks. 102 here right now, might hit 105, no relief in sight for the next ten days, so just hanging out in the AC. Too hot to even go out in the garage and straighten up the loading bench! Might take the Missus out to dinner tonight, but don't know if we want to get toasted getting out!

Greetings all.

117 here in Africa today. We got a little rain around 10pm last night, but not enough to make anything muddy. Just enough to make my walk to breakfast a little more humid.

Highlights of the day include 4 hours inventorying hazmat stuff and making a spreadsheet (they call the program Excell, but I did not excel at it). I also splinted a broken finger with a pencil and duct tape. Apparently the guy did it last night playing basketball, and didn’t want to go to the base hospital. I guess to each his own.

I'm headed up the road, to Mount Dora (about an hour drive) for the Florida Military Collectors’ Show.
We don't & won't sell anything, strictly an exhibiting not for profit museum.
Any donation to us of militaria is for "in house display" only.
I'll setting up and manning the Museum's traveling display to advertise the existence of the museum.

I'll will however peruse the vendors, in case there is something for my personal collection.
But I expect the prices to be high, and more than likely even stratospheric and out of my range.

Supposed to be 92° and 95% humidity  ::)  phew !

Ya know Slim, I read those temps you are having right now and envy you. Then I remember your posts from January and February and feel much better.  :) Anyhoo, it's 92 already here today going for 96. Major. You be safe.
We didn't go to dinner last night, it was just like "Are we nuts?" when we would walk out. We will do Church tomorrow, lunch then, and when the Afternoon service is over, get inside and stay there!

More to the tune of 98° air temp, they were closer on humidity @ 96%  heat index in the sun was 108°
I'm hard boiled ...

Lots of cool stuff, Prices not so cool. however, as the crowd thinned, and the heat rose. there were some deals to be made. I was pan fried and saved my haggling skills, not to mention my cash stash....

Milsurp guns galore, but prices were stratospheric. I saw a 1910 Mills belt that was very nice would have loved to have got it for my coming 1916-17 Punitive Era Border Exhibit but @ $300  :o   NOT !

Still better than the Horn of Africa :o. It’s 110 here as I write this. Winter don’t know about. Probably still too hot.

A bit more to report about the Military show yesterday....

There was a goodly number of WW2 Reenactors, Germans by in large, several Africa Corp, a pair of Mountain Troopers, a German Medic, a number of Wehrmacht (a couple were armed with MP40)
but also, a Russian, couple of Brits and several American infantrymen, and 8th Army Air Corp Sargent.
I even saw US Marines and group of Japanese soldiers.
All were quite detailed & impressive.  I have photos if you'd like.

Vietnam's war was represented with couple of GI's with trench guns, another with an AR a LAW tube.
and all sported field gear.

I was told they belong to a group - WW2ARMOR.ORG

Vehicles were also present, a pair 41 Willy's, a Duce and half, a British Armored car complete with a BREN gun in the turret, a pair of German BMW motorcycles, and for post WW2 a Vietnam era Mutt, and several Humv's
