Went to lunch to one of the Great Nieces birthday party, a national chain BBQ place that ain't bad even though they have a north woods looking theme yet don't have walleye on the menu.😞

Anyway the service was really very good despite a few boo boos, I was a good boy, but when I asked for butter she "said for your cornbread?"

I said yes instead of saying I wanted to spread it on my wife later.😆

The other one 8 year old Grayson was given a beer menu instead of a childs menu at first, I tried to get her to order a beer.🤣

Morning coffee is up.
Rain has returned as predicted

I was watching a walleye and jumbo perch catching video yesterday.
Either would be quite tasty.
It?s crappie season here. Driving by  the lakes, you can see the boats circling the hot spots.

Maj EA hope you kick the crud, soon.

Drove across town tonight, stopped at the Kwik Shop and talked to the guy who used to be 3rd shift, now ast manager, talked to a few of the old customers, then wet to a bar and grill and met with some people in a Lincoln History group.

Had fun, came home and took of my shoes and realized I was tired.

That was a big day for you.

Rain continues- a little bit of thunder n lightning last night. Enough to have the cats hide and the dogs wanting to hide under the bed or in the bed. Good thing a human was there to protect them.

Coffee is up - bacon and eggs a bit later

I did the math on many of the results last night.  Apparently Trump still has a very happy fan base. His primary votes out numbered all the Democraps votes combined. Still going to be a struggle. We who enjoy our freedoms must be aware.

Well the slish slosh sounded good, will not need internal defibrillator.  Took me off another med and the inhalers, counting the 2 inhalers, that's 7 meds less than I came home with.

Did you ask his nurse to make the Doctor an eye appointment?

It is always good to get off meds. I am off one more my self. Including the inhaler now just 3. I think I could get by with just the inhaler.

The reason I asked about reconditioning a saddle is we were given a bigger saddle for Micah. It is a Hereford Brand Tex Tan - Yoakim. It was made in August of 1965.

Coffee is ready.

Another rain filled day....

Suzanne has been feeling poorly had a slight temperature last evening. She is either hot or calmmie cold. Stubborn won?t take anything, over the counter. Won?t go to see the doc n the box. Would not take what they prescribe either.

I don?t like to complain about the rain and I am trying not too. However I can not get around in it. I think I need to build a arch soon.

Slim hope you have fun on the saddle project.
Weavers Leather or Colorado Saddlery can help you with any thing you might need to repair it with.

The saddle seems to be in good condition, 'twas dusty and dry. Got it cleaned up and conditioned with Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative, which I got via Del for boots. Figured I'd try it since I had it, first.

Rained overnight. Roads seem to be clear.

Cut some Fig stems today hoping to get them to root.  Noticed the pear tree has blossomed.  Suzanne gathered in some chickweed to make a pesto with.
I made a batch of carrot salad to go with supper this evening.

If the weather remains dry this week I may go get a few replacement chicks/pullets.

Slim always wanted a .38-55 never found what I call a deal on one.

Warm, around 60 and dry here today. One more day like that, then rain is supposed to return.

Congratulations on the "mobile gun shop" visit, Slim. I like the .38-55, got a Win '94, I believe from 1908, about 15 or so years ago. Have taken 3-4 deer with it, drops them just as fast as my .308, but not as messy to field dress. I've loaded a few cast with it several years ago, but the deer were taken with Win factory loads.

Greetings all. Glad to see the pot is still full and the fire is still burning.

I have survived US Air Force Basic Training, and am currently sitting on a bus headed to tech school. As they say, BMT was the best experience I never want to have again.  I made a few good friends, met a lot of people I wouldn't be upset to not see again, and got yelled at a lot for random reasons. But, my flight and our sister flight ended up taking 5 of the 6 BMT-wide awards for excellence, plus commander's recognition for excellence as a band flight.

I finally got to see the Alamo and river walk this weekend too. For what that is worth.

I'll be checking in on y'all in the evenings, so make sure someone keeps that fire burning.

Back in the day a Gin and Tonic was my favorite mixed drink, about the only one I drink.  They go far better on a hot day than any beer just make up an iced tea pitcher of them and sit on the porch.

A twist of lime would be good in case of scurvy.

Got congestion and coughing, no fever and not much chance of exposure, went to heart Dr yesterday and they weren't worried.

Had an appointment at GP today, they are telling people to call Dr's first if you have any of symptoms,.  They said they are masking at the door.  Talking to them we decided to cancel it, more for my safety since this is just a follow up.

So far north Texas hasn't been too bad. The Air Force has been trying to kill me with 11 hours of PowerPoint for the past three days straight, but other than that it's okay.

Mission accomplished, got some groceries and an 18 pack of TP.

Been told by the kids and my mother we need to stay our butts home.  Will lay low till Sunday night and peek up to look. Online grocery orders are running behind, can't get pickup till Saturday, no delivery till Tuesday, niece will pickup for us.

Stopped by The Fort a bit today and chatted with two  of my old bosses.  Got asked what I was d6out there also, guess I'm double high risk due to age and problems. ::)

Delmonico scored on the TP! Went to Wally World after work today, entire TP aisle was empty. Probably 25-30 feet of aisle, 2 shelves high. Paper towels were kind of lacking too, but still some there. Guess they're taking it for "emergency" use. Big empty space with one (1) bottle of Lysol. I left it there, thought it might not be safe walking around with it in there. Wanted to get some bread flour, all that was left were half dozen bags of all purpose and a couple of self rising. At least I got some whole wheat last week.

Well, that's all for now, it's my turn to do guard duty-posting a guard on our TP supply.

The last time I saw gasoline in Florida under $2.00 per gallon was in November of 2018.

We went to two of the major supermarket chains (Publix and Winn Dixie). Things appeared to be relatively normal and we found everything we needed to buy.

The pools and workout centers in our Condo community are closed thru March 31st. Our church had a reasonable attendance at the 10:00 AM service and way down at the noon service.

Gas dropped to 1.94 in the town where I work, been there for a week and doesn't seem to be going lower.

Our church attendance was down some, too. Only one morning service this week, no evening because of fellowship dinner and business meeting after morning service.

Text from kid's school, they're extending their spring break another week.

Johnny M, My Dad had a '56 Ford convertible when I was little, but mostly I only remember seeing pictures of it. I vaguely remember the '62 convertible that came after it. Then came the '66 Plymouth Sport Fury, first car I "drove", sitting on the console and steering it.

Trinity and Lil Roo, only FOD I have to worry about here is what I might hit with the lawn mower, or hitting fence wire or a rock with the chain saw. How many times do I have to tell the girls not to leave stuff laying around the yard, especially if the grass gets tall?

Today was... Exciting. It started off at 0430 with a tornado siren wake up. Turned out to be a false alarm, but I didn't get back to sleep after. The rest of the day was just watching thunderstorms though the classroom window and filling out AFTO 781A forms.

Afternoon all.

Currently sunny and 55 on Sheppard AFB. I'm sitting outside the mini mall waiting for the coffee shop to brew more. Because apparently they forgot to brew coffee... At the coffee shop.

So while I wait I'm enjoying the sunshine.

As of 0200 last night the base is on lockdown. Nobody in or out for an undefined length of time. But so long as classes continue, I'm not too upset. I wouldn't be allowed off base for another two weeks anyway, and there's nothing to do in Wichita Falls that interests me anyway. So nothing really changed.

I take it the ?stay at home? does effect your work?

Major the crack repair looks good.  Stain and varnish should hide it even more.  I once repaired a stock on a TC Hawkins rifle. Broke thru the wrist. Dowel and Accurglass. I used for hunting that year. I was in Log Cabin Sporting goods and mentioned it. They told me bring it in and they would replaced it for free. The repair held good. Resale value on front stuffers isn?t very high. Having a cracked repaired stock wouldn?t help. I took them up on replacement.

Looks like your using your staying at home time well.

Nope, maybe when the get me updated from my 3G flip phone payday.   I've been told I have to up date.   They were looking at them today and trying to get me to decide, throwing numbers, figures and other type office worker stuff at me.  Told them I was done fooling with it, payday order me one and I'll learn to use it.  Too much bullshit for me, they did promise me when the data contract runs out on my tablet they would be able to show me how to operate it through the phone so I've got a bigger picture if I want it.

I'm a dinosaur they say because I had them set me up with a new desktop with a CD/Rom thing in it for getting my dinosaur back up stuff loaded.  Got dual screens one big and one more normal, Get some extra pennies may buy another one to hang on the wall, one of them fancy flat screen TV's that are getting cheaper, small one maybe 2X4, they don't understand why, but I don't understand why they want to sit around and watch TV stuff on them, pretty much done with TV. ::)

We both use our antique iPhones for internet etc. slow but effective.  We can use them also as a remote for watching TV. We no longer use satellite. Use only YouTube TV. All local channels and many we don?t watch. Then a few we do watch. Half the price of cable or satellite. WiFi/Internet service provide by phone company. We could care less about updating phones.

Made my mile in 20 minutes today, rested 5 minutes and BP was 101 over 71 and heart rate was 88.

Came in the door and took off my coat and it was 148 over 91 with hr  of 101.  Took 2 rests of about 3 minutes and leaned on my cane.  Guess it's more of a leaning stick but it helps getting in and out of vehicles.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are hot.

Field ditches are full. Bullet is sleeping after our walk down the lane. Some spots of the lane are under water.

Church starts at 10:30 AM. https://live.wausharacommunitychurch.org/

'Tis 39 and rain. "A steady rain this morning. Showers continuing this afternoon. High around 45F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%."

Just "got back" from church here, internet was cooperating this week. Wired the laptop to the big TV.

Sunshine outside, but was cool enough to need a fire this morning, haven't had one for several days this last week.

Delmonico, those numbers sound pretty good. Mine aren't that good, even with 2 meds a day for it.

Thanks for the coffee-

Little Smokies sound good I think we have a pack or two in freezer.

This isolation for me is not that difficult. However Suzanne still works, and is in contact with people everyday. They may go to NO cash sales, plastic only. To keep from handling cash. They are supplying gloves and hand sanitizers for them. They also gave them a dollar raise. Not sure that would justify them catching this virus.

Hope everyone here is remaining safe.

Jodi retired ( actually fed up ) with the property managing position she held a copula years ago....but just got SS last year.
She and her friend dabble in Mary Kay as a hobby, so that is on hold.

I on a furlough or layoff, they expect I'll to go back.... and I'm fine to do that , but at my age "IF" the current crap continues
into the Fall .... I may call it a career  :-\

Mean while I'm reloading Mil-Surp with Trail Boss for fun shooting

Made a mile and a half today, skipped yesterday because was having leg cramps.  Not sure the time, I stopped and sat on the block wall about 10-15 minutes at F Street Park and rested my legs.  Got home and BP was 131 over 83 and HR of 100, rested about 5 minutes and was down to 100 over 71 with a HR of 91.

Evening all.

Life here on Sheppard has been somewhat different of late. As in, they closed all the stores to those of us in training except for just a couple hours on the weekends. So apparently the solution to this issue was a huge block party Friday and Saturday nights. That ended with 19 airmen arrested for underage drinking, and one for urinating on the Installation Command Chief Master Sargent.
So that all complicates my life as an E-3, because reasons. I wasn't on duty, or in the area, but I'm getting chewed out for it. So that's fun.

Didn't walk today, legs were cramping this morning, will hit it tomorrow.  Plan/goal is on May 1st to take Little Brown Dog out to the wildlife management area 12 miles from home and work in the dog training area.  A lot of memories at that place, Riley will be #4 to train there and most likely my last one.

13 years ago, he was a handsome lad in his youth.
