Title: GAF Side Match Results

Brv't. Col. Pitsptr,

I have the honor to report on the GAF Side Match held at the KVC Two Gun Shoot, 8 Apr. ultimo.

The scenario was based on the Fetterman Masacre.  The troopers were armed with Spencers.  The course of fire was load 7 in your rifle and have three on your person and 5 in your revolver.  Stage your revolver on the boulder.  Take your position behind the boulder and engage the rifle targets.  When the rifle is empty, load the 3 remaining rounds individually.  Place the rifle on the boulder and secure your revolver.  Engage the 4 revolver targets.  True to the orginal fight, take the last bullet and shoot your partner in mutual agreement. [Fireproof dummy]  Capt. Fetterman and the Lt. had this agreement.

We had 10 shootere, represneting Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Indiana and Missouri.

The winner was Quick Fire of the Dep't. of the Missouri Scouts, Nebraska Terriory.  The award was a pewter desk top field piece, provided by Dr. Bob.

The GAF season has officially started!!

Sounds fun.  Wish I could have been down there for that.
