Very clever Roo, spring just around the corner  :)

I spent the day in traction (sorta of)
over did it pressure washing off stains on the patio deck & front porch yesterday, feeling it today  ::)
a nap helped some.

Another step closer to steak.  Got the implants going today.  Had 3 hr. surgery (at least I was told it was 3 hrs, as I was napping the entire time).  They planted little buggers and covered them up.  I feel like they are waiting for them to germinate.  Go back in 3weeks to see if they can be uncovered.  The oral saga continues!

Temps broke 70 today and as I wasn’t allowed to operate heavy machinery, I had to sit around and recover.  This operation nap was more impacting than any other of the ones so far.  May have been because it was the length.  As tomorrow should be almost as good as today, anyone got a D5-CAT I can play with??

Never considered Yuppies silk purses, maybe wanna be silk purses. ::)   Myself I'm more of a smoke hog jowl type. ;)  And yes, Uncle Bill know what black eyed peas were and appropriated them according to the accepted rules of war at the time. ;D  But didn't cause him to loose the battle like the cherries at Gettysburg might have done to Lee's Army. Hard to shit and shoot at the same time, or rather shoot a gun. :o

Well, you couldn't have asked for a prettier day today, almost 80 and sunny with a nice breeze. Perfect for getting the Dillon running again, had it set up, but hadn't run anything since the move last year. Well, it decided to have a fit and dumped the whole primer tube. Thankfully they were all caught by the spent primer cup, but after half an hour of fighting with it, finally gave up and called Dillon. Turned out the detent that keeps the primers feeding one at a time was lost and Dillon is sending me a new one. Time for a coffee and a good book.

Afternoon all.

Currently 22 and snowing in Great Falls, which is where I am at the moment.

I saw 9 Bad eagles on the drive in yesterday, which made me think of Arcey. 3 of them were juveniles that hadn’t “gone bald” yet.

Today would have been my best friend’s 24th birthday as well.

Howdy all time change Sunday coming up.
75° today and start  tomorrow- then the bottom is suppose to fall out.

Glen glad you are getting around

Major working on cars is like calving cows- the worst weather will be added.

TK just curious, when the honey dipping has slow spells do they haul pool water?

Major - some really great donations. Have you seen Colorado’s Dragon man collection. He may be a source for heavy weapon parts.

You all keep it between the ditches and always keep your powder dry.

39 degrees this morning, heading to 73°, thanks for the coffee  :)

Here is my latest completed project for the Museum,

I have been adding to the Spanish America War Exhibit, items are hard to come by.

The first photo is one of Teddy Roosevelt's SAA held at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site .
Having no idea its value "priceless comes to mind, and knowing full well its historical importance,
I set upon having a replica in our SAW exhibit.

Here then is my version on display.
The donor pistol is an old Armi Jager circa 1972 [ XXVll ]
worn and generally a rough old cob action wise.

Defarbed of 'Armi Jager' markings, finish antiqued, and faux ivory's in a similar display setting.
Granted my phone's photo thru glass, is not as clear as the professional quality photo of the original.
Believe it or not the Jager is also engraved.

Evening Y'all, well, we got about 5 inches of the evil white stuff yesterday,I fired up the S**wblower to clear the driveway and got the end by the road don and maybe 3 swipes up the rest and the impeller jammed up and wouldn't turn. My neighbor(Very nice guy) saw that I didn't finish it and called to see if I wanted to use his spare machine to finish it off,I thanked him and said I would be over after I was done making dinner.About 5 minutes later I hear something and look out and there he is finishing my driveway for me.You really have to appreciate that there are still people like that around.

Major, that’s some neat photography. Sounds like a good time was had by all.

I took the dog out yesterday for some rodent control. We got a couple squirrels, 2 of which became puppy chow instead of being retrieved. The other two were cooked over an open fire and eaten overlooking the Blackfoot River.

Thanks Kid...I was rather harried on the Texans;
 I had heard they were due over-head a 12noon.
I was still caught off guard, a woman had walked up and was chatty Kathy, and I had to snap grab the shot.
Bright day, also directly overhead on my phone, and then crop & enlarge it so the planes were the center of the field. Sorry the shot is some fuzzy.

There were goodly number of nifty eye-candy cars.
This was the 4th annual hold for the event, and it has grown.
This was our first appearance, we were invited last fall at a Veterans Day event we attended at Lake Nona Fl.

I'm on the road again, and will set-up at the Annual Narcoossee Mill Battle Reenactment this coming Saturday.

On the same day, a museum representative. will attend the Osceola Co. Sherriff's salute to Veterans (Vietnam Veterans Day celebration.)
I have put together a second near duplicate portable display, to be maned by our lobbyist.

I am enjoying, my retirement activity   ;D

Full day. Went to a birthday party after church in Ripon, which is the birthplace of the party of Abe Lincoln. Then went to my uncle's house in Oshkosh. Got home after 2100.

Morning all.

Currently 31 and overcast in the Missoula valley. I’ll be spending my day down the Bitterroot today for work. We have a big job down there, 23,000 gallons, so it’s all hands on deck.

Today also marks 3 years since I signed my life away to Uncle Sam. Time flies when you’re having fun.

The storm front that beat on Louisiana Tuesday passed here yesterday afternoon, had pretty much petered out by the time it reached here.
More is in the forecast today with rain @ 70% and 20% on Friday, and a cool down following.

I am taking the Museum portable presents to the Battle of Narcoossee Mill Saturday

This event is in its 28th annual cycle, my late Friend John Holmes and I originally planned the event with
the Jacob Summerlin SCV camp in 1993.

Sunny and 56° headed to 77°, cookie cutter day of yesterday.
Spent Saturday at the Narcoossee Battle reenactment with the portable Museum exhibit.
I retired from mounted ACW reenacting in 2002, I felt after some 26 years and @ 53 years young
enough.
Course I still rode, and I have CAS,so the bug still is present, though I no longer participate in ACW.

But as I sat there, I watch a somewhat newer generation of ACW reenactors and to my amazement many old and decidedly portly gents still taking the field.
One such was by his admission, 86  :o  ( course he was in a period civilian frock & vest, a noncombatant ) accompanied by his wife, also dressed to the nines in period attire, hoop dress and bonnet.
On the other hand, a young confederate fellow of 16, stopped by the exhibit with 2 of his like uniform pards, young fellows still entering the hobby.
The number of reenactors were down, but the enthusiasm seems to be alive and well and the hobby continues.
One of the quite interesting folks I met was a Black man, Mr. H.K. Edgerton dressed as a Confederate waving the Battle flag
and member of the Sons of Confederate Veterains.
In fact, he and Nelson Winbush* (grandson & namesake of a Confederate Veteran Louis Napoleon Nelson that rode with Nathan Bedford Forrestt ) are both members of the host SCV camp of the reenactment.
History IS still alive.   Saturday's Exhibit and Sunday's Exhibit

*Nelson Wyman Winbush (born 1929) is an educator who is notable as one of a handful of African-American members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV), and for his controversial views, such as his support of the modern display of the Confederate flag.

I've known "Coach" Nelson Winbush for 30+ years, he coached Football & baseball at Osceola High for 41  years.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YF-QIJyLhKQ

Nelson has been a thorn ( for GOOD ) in the side of the Anti's dissing Confederate history for some 90 years  :)
I've seen photos of him @ 5 years old with his Grandfather both in Gray uniform, at Confererate reunions.

Note: the similar but different two mobile traveling Museum exhibits for veterans events,  Etc.

Had a couple rough days, had to have full anesthesia for colon check, but doing it that way keeps me from having to do it twice if they have problems with me screaming. ::)  Then a med change, pulse was way up and BP, BP is fine now but pulse is down to 100 or slightly less, better than the 140-150, slept most of Thursday and Friday.   One small polyp, should be ok will hear back soon.  Dr and I discussed it, may be the last one, we'll decide in 5 years, because if things ain't good they cure could be worse than the disease at that stage. :P  One of those life things you have to decide.

Fried cabbage and chili verde for me for supper, got some pork chops give to me as well as bacon and cabbage.  BIL had the pork and doesn't cook and no girlfriend to do it for him.  About 4 pounds of chops.  Had it at a local family owned place and had forgot how much I liked it and found a good sauce cheap.   Note also only little seeds from tomatillos, no big seeds from sneaking in green tomatoes.  Ain't from down south, won't eat no green maters.  :P

Rita is having lemon pepper chicken quarters with bacon on top, more free stuff, 8 quarters in two 15" skillets in the oven, not sure what she is having besides, told her it's on her.  Plenty of leftovers to bag and vacuum seal to microwave.   That's what I do when busy with other things or just feel crappy.

Doing candied orange slices and tart cherries for fun, will make a coffee cake out of the leftover flavored syrup.  Planning on another bread experiment tomorrow if things are going good.  Once it gets going the new meds should help and dropped 10 pounds or so this month, I was 276 this morning, down from 295 at the first of the year.  I think that is going to help, hoping to get to the gym this week and start pedaling on one of those cloths hanger things. ;D
