Should I read that as an "Uncle" from Slim?

I'll give you this - He carried a "Wild" in front of his given name, like numerous other Old West characters.  Dontcha kinda like his outfit?

The only one I can think of is Wild Bill Hickok.  But I doubt that is him with a S&W.
