Congrats. Nice Trapdoors. I was at a local gunshow last Saturday and picked up a 1895 marked Krag Carbine in 30/40 Gov't.
It's got a good bore, but the stock is a rifle stock cut down to carbine length, a M1902 carbine rear sight with a "C" stamped on it which means that it's a reworked rifle sight installed on some carbines in 1902. It has the Rifle barrel band w/sling swivel and a sling swivel inletted into the rear of the stock.
The butplate is steel with a trap door and it has the original metal oil can.
It's a shooter, not a collectors piece, but I plan to do some more research on it.
If anyone has any information they can add, I'd appreciate it.
